'Aaryan' X Review, Fans Praise First Half Of Vishnu Vishal's Thriller Film, But Call It Predictable

Indian actor and producer, Vishnu Vishal has returned to the world of thrillers with his recently released film, Aaryan. The Tamil film is directed by Praveen K and it also stars Selvaraghavan and Shraddha Srinath. The film, Aaryan hit the theatres on October 31, 2025, and within hours it started receiving mixed reviews by the audience and critics. On October 31, 2025, a lot of users took to their X (formerly Twitter) handles to share their thoughts on the Tamil film. While most of the users appreciated the narrative of the film, a few users found it predictable. One user commented, "#Aaryan First Half - Engaging. First 30 Mins was super impressive which gave a huge start for the film. Selvaraghavan character has been Interestingly made with unusual antagonist arc. VishnuVishal as usual fits in cop character. Romantic track could have been trimmed & Emotional connect was slightly missing among victims!! The screenplay was tightly packed & Interval ends on an impressive note. Into second half."

A user rated the film 2.75 out of 5 and wrote, "The opening 20 minutes strike right with solid writing and an engaging #Selvaraghavan characterization. His “Hero Entry innum illa” line? Pure goosebumps. But soon after the title credits, the pace drops. The protagonist’s personal conflicts feel familiar and predictable." Another user penned, "#Aaryan #vishnuvishal Good watch but very predictable 2nd half...  Watch it with less expectation!!!" Plot of the film, Aaryan

Aaryan is a Tamil crime thriller that follows a brave police officer, played by Vishnu Vishal, who is on a mission to catch a mysterious serial killer. In the film the killer has an interesting approach, as he warns his victims an hour before committing the crime. As the investigation moves forward, the case becomes very personal for Vishnu's character as all the clues connect to his personal life. The story then reveals the emotional side and reasons behind the crimes. Aaryan promises a mix of action, suspense and emotions. 

Vishnu Vishal did a solo lead film after three years

A day before the release of Aaryan, Vishnu Vishal took to his X handle to share their excitement ahead of the release. He shared a long note, in which he revealed that he is returning as a solo lead after three years because he liked the script of this film. He also thanked the crew members of the film for pouring their heart into Aaryan. A part of his note can be read as:

"It's been three years since I've had a release as a solo lead, and Aaryan feels like the right film to make that return - because it's everything I've been waiting for: intense, fresh, and unlike anything I've done before."
