Aayush Sharma, who is married to Salman Khan’s sister, Arpita, debuted in the Hindi film industry with the 2018 romcom, Loveyatri. He was then seen in Antim: The Final Truth alongside Salman. Despite being supported by his brother-in-law, Aayush failed to leave an indelible impression on the audience’s mind. However, he did not give up and strives to make a name for himself in this competitive industry. Recently, the actor opened up about his first meeting with Bollywood’s bhaijaan and also recalled how he eventually married Salman’s sister, Arpita.
Aayush graced Bharti Singh and Haarsh Limbachiya’s podcast on their YouTube channel. In the episode, the actor shared unheard anecdotes from various aspects of his life, but what caught our attention was the one where he revealed about meeting Salman for the very first time. While conversing with the hosts, Aayush revealed that he was friends with Arpita for 3-4 years, and then eventually, he proposed to her, and they started dating.

One night, when he dropped Arpita at Galaxy, she asked him to come upstairs, have food, and watch a film with her. Aayush further shared that he was hesitant at first, but upon Arpita’s persuasion, he went in. After a while, Salman came back home. Sharing more about his first meeting with Salman, Aayush said:
“Hum baithe the TV dekh rahe the uspe zikr hua Salman ka aur wo prakat ho gaye darwaze pe aur ghanti marne lage. Maine kaha ye kaun hai, Arpita boli ki ‘Bhai toh Karjat mein shoot kar rahe hai’. Wo ghume aise aur peeche main baitha hua tha, ab mereko toh seedhe pyaar kiya toh darna kya wali feeling aa gayi. Wo ghume aur maine seedhe uth ke bola, ‘Hi sir, I am Aayush Sharma’, wo bhi ghabra gaye aur kehte, ‘Hi, I am Salman Khan’. Aur mere muhn se nikla pata hai mereko.”
Aayush mentioned that as soon as Salman left the place, he also got ready to return home. The actor shared that the very next day he received a call from Arpita saying that Salman wanted to meet him. Further recalling his meeting, Aayush said that Salman had already found out his details, and they even had a little debate about Aayush’s hometown, Mandi.

In the same conversation, Aayush shared Salman had asked him to accompany him for a walk. And during their walk, like every other doting brother, Salman asked Aayush about his profession and earnings. The Loveyatri actor even recalled how Salman had said that he did not know acting at all. Moreover, Aayush shared that he and Arpita never discussed getting married until his meeting with Salman, but the latter had asked him about their future planning. In his words:
“Unhone poocha ki kya karte ho? Maine kaha ki ‘sir main acting ke auditions de raha tha’. Unhone poocha kya kiya abhi tak? Maine kaha ‘kuch nahi’. Aage kya plan hai? Maine kaha ki acting nahi hogi toh restaurant wagera kaunga. (Salman said) Tumko acting aati hi nahi hai. Maine socha ki maine kuch dikhaya hi nahi, inko kaise pata ki nahi aati, toh unhone kaha ki sahi training hogi tumhari aur tumhe actor ban na chahiye. Unhone phir poocha tumhara aur Arpita ka future ka kya plan hai? Ye discussion kabhi hua nahi tha, na maine Arpita ko kabhi propose kiya tha na Arpita ne mujhse kabhi shaadi ki baat kari thi aur maine jake bol diya ki sir future toh shaadi hogi.”
Aayush was around 23 or 24 when he had this conversation with Salman. Furthermore, Arpita’s brother inquired about his earnings and the actor shared that his family used to send him money, but he didn’t earn a penny. However, Salman was surprised by his honesty and immediately agreed to Arpita’s marriage to Aayush. In his words:
“(Salman asked) Tum kamate kitna ho? Maine kaha main kuch nahi kamata hun, papa se paise mil jate hai, papa ke paison pe hi jee raha hun. Unhone bola ki tum mujhse meri hi behen ka rishta maang rahe ho ye bolte huye ki na main kuch kaam karta hun, na main kuch paise kamata hun, maine kaha haan matlab ghar pe paisa hai par mere paas nahi hai. Toh unhone Arpita ko bola kaha se dhoond ke laayi hai iss aadmi ko bohot hi sach bolta hai. Ye ladka mujhe bohot pasand hai, shaadi pakki.”
Aayush Sharma got married to Arpita Khan in 2014, and they have welcomed two children, a son, Ahil and a daughter, Ayat.
