AB De Villiers Issues Public Apology To Virat Kohli On Live Session, Says, 'I Did Bit Of A Blunder'

Virat Kohli and Anushka Sharma have been hitting all the headlines off lately with reports about their second pregnancy. For those who don't know, the former captain of India, Virat, got married to his ladylove, Anushka, in 2017. It was in 2021 when the duo welcomed their baby girl, Vamika, into their lives. However, in the last few months of 2023, reports about Anushka being pregnant for the second time made headlines. Although, neither Virat nor Anushka addressed the same, this constant gossip about their personal life often gets ignited for one reason or another. 

AB de Villiers apologies to Virat Kohli and his family for sharing information that wasn't confirmed

Amid the ongoing pregnancy rumours of Anushka Sharma, Virat's close friend and the prominent cricketer of South Africa, AB de Villiers, confirmed the same in a viral video. However, soon after the incident, the former captain of SA, in an interview with Dainik Bhaskar stated that he made a 'terrible mistake' by sharing false information. He also wished Virat luck and strength. And now, on February 10, 2024, in one of his YouTube live sessions, AB de Villiers apologised to Kohli and his family for making a 'blunder'. He further asked the fans to respect Virat and his family's privacy as no one knows in which situation the cricketer is right now. ABD stated:

"My friend Virat Kohli is still not available. I cry out to everyone to give him the privacy that he deserves. Family comes first. No one knows what exactly is going on. I am asking all of us to respect that. I did bit of a blunder in my previous show and I apologise to the Kohli family for that."

AB de Villiers requests fans to respect Virat Kohli and his family's privacy

In the same session, AB de Villiers further talked about sharing information about Anushka Sharma's alleged pregnancy. The cricketer added that it was not at all nice on his part to share information that had not been confirmed. He also asked fans to respect Virat and his family in this private situation. Wishing good luck to Virat, AB de Villiers mentioned:

"Just not nice. I shared information that was not confirmed at all so. I am begging everyone out there to respect him and his family and his private time. Hopefully, we will see Virat back, happy and scoring runs as he always does."

Virat Kohli withdrew his name from the remaining three matches of the IND Vs ENG series

Virat Kohli had earlier taken a break from two test matches between India and England and mentioned the reason as personal. While his fans were waiting for his return to the third match, reports stated that Virat had withdrawn his name from the remaining three matches for the same reason. Soon after, the news surfaced online, and netizens started reacting to it. While some users stated that Virat made the absolute right choice as his family certainly needs his undivided attention for whatever the situation is, others started posting mean comments, which were unacceptable.

Virat Kohli once talked about returning to the fields after Vamika was born

There's no second thought about the fact that Virat Kohli is a doting father to his daughter, Vamika, and he often proves the same. For instance, after Vamika's birth, Virat sat for an interview with Filmfare, wherein he was asked about his excitement to be back on the team. To this, Virat gave a wholesome response and said that these two things cannot be compared. The player added that being a father is the most joyous and the greatest feeling of life, which can only be comprehended after experiencing it. On the other hand, he also remarked that the connection that he shares with his team will never fade away when he has given his everything. Virat stated:

"I don't think the two can be compared. To me becoming a father has been and will remain the greatest moment in my life. And that is something that has to be experienced to understand what I'm saying. Secondly, the connection to the team does not go away in any situation, especially when you've given everything for the team.”
