The 21-year-old Tajikistani singer, Abdu Rozik rose to worldwide fame after his appearance in India's Bigg Boss 16, followed by his successful appearance in Laughter Chef 2. Recently, the reality star was taken into custody on July 12, 2025 at Dubai International Airport at around 5 in the morning. He was arrested shortly after he landed in Dubai from Montenegro.
It is worth mentioning that the exact nature of the complaint against Abdu is still under wraps. A representative from his team stated that they only have the information that Abdu is under custody on allegations of theft. However, they declined to elaborate further, and no official statement around the matter has been issued by the Dubai authorities. The representative stated:
"All we can say is that we are aware he has been taken into custody on allegations of theft."
For the unversed, Abdu Rozik is known for his height. Despite being just over three feet tall due to a growth hormone deficiency, Abdu Rozik enjoys worldwide fame. He is the most recognised and loved celebrity in the Middle East and South Asia. Abdu holds the UAE's Golden Visa, and has lived in Dubai for many years and worked hard in his career, which involves music, entertainment, boxing and entrepreneurship.
After Abdu's stint in the reality show, Bigg Boss 16, he landed in trouble with the Enforcement Directorate India as they summoned him for a money laundering case in association with narcotic funding. This was because Abdu's burger food joint, 'Burgiir', drove money from the drug lord, Ali Asghar Shirazi, via Hustlers Hospitality.

Earlier, Abdu Rozik graced Maniesh Paul's podcast and shared his journey from being zero to a hero in the hearts of everyone. The 19-year-old, who hails from Tajikistan and now lives in Dubai, had seen a tough phase in his life. Abdu revealed that he used to sing in markets and had seen a lot of difficulties. He shared that rich people used to see him sing and would throw money at him.
Abdu also stated that he had faced bullying all his life. He shared that people would mock him for coming to school late, they would call my home ‘bathroom-sized’. His house would be in a bad shape, with water leaking, snow falling inside. He had a three-room house, but the bathroom was outside. He further added:
"My father used to work in building constructions and in 2-3 months he would bring home 200-300 dollars. I would go to the city 1-2 times to sing. But then our house crashed, we got hurt and it had to be rebuilt. That’s when I had to go and sing regularly to earn more money. I had a small phone and I could hear songs on it and learn. Then some media people came and recorded my video and it reached more people. Then people started helping me. I opened Instagram and I got 25K followers in one day."
On the work front, Abdu was last seen in the superhit cooking reality show, Laughter Chefs.
