'Indian Idol' Winner, Abhijeet Sawant Reveals How 5000 Uninvited Guests Came To His Wedding And Ate

Abhijeet Sawant created a fan base for himself when he won the popular singing reality show, Indian Idol 1, in 2004. He is known for his hit song, Mohabbatein Lutaaunga, which is on his personal album. In his personal life, the singer got married to his childhood love, Shilpa Sawant, back in 2007. They used to stay in the same residence. Lately, the singer revealed how on his marriage day, the guest list exceeded his expectations. This is because 5000 people entered his wedding like Begani Shadi Mein Abdullah Deewana.

Abhijeet Sawant narrates how 5000 people came and ate in his wedding, who were not even invited

Abhijeet shared that the day after his wedding, he had to attend the Jakarta Asian Idol event as his competition was about to take place there. He had told Shilpa that both of them would go there and then proceed with their honeymoon. Abhijeet, in a recent interview with the Hindi Rush, revealed he got married in Parla, Mumbai, next to his building where he used to stay. There was a school next to his residence, and there the marriage was kept. The buffet system at his wedding was kept on an open ground, so his guest list from 1000 became 5000 as all uninvited people came for free food. His guests suffered as they were unable to meet the couple at the wedding. In his words:

"Pata nai woh kitna sahi mein kya bata rahe hain. Toh humne bulaya tha kuch 1000 logo ko. Capacity thi 1000  ki. Waha par 5000 log aaye. Teeb baar khana change hua. Khatam hoke wapis bhara gaya aur joh hall tha woh chota tha aur neeche ground tha. Toh milne ke liye upar aana padta tha. Niche joh hai buffet tha. Log khana vaana khaa rahe hai aur upar joh hai na Sidhivinayak ke jaise line lagi hui hai. Mandir ke bahar. Aur jo mere guest hai, hamare guest hai unko milne nai dia aur koi bharke hi log line mei lage huei hai."

When Abhijeet Sawant revealed using Tinder after his marriage

Abhijeet, in the interview with the same publication, revealed using Tinder after being married to Shilpa. However, he did stop using the app when the news of his Tinder profile came out in the news. Abhijeet shared that he was in the USA when a friend of his introduced him to the dating app. Abhijeet also revealed that she did not have any idea about his dating app. Abhijeet shared:

“I'm a curious person. I've always had curiosity. I was in the US with my friend, and he said, 'This is a new app. It's for dating'. I made my profile then, and it was there as it is. Main kabhi kabhi beech mein jaata tha, dekhta tha kya hai yeh sab kya hota hai? Maine apna hi naam rakha tha sab kuch sahi tha. Biwi ko nahi pata tha. But kuch kiya nahi, kisise mila bhi nahi, kuch tha bhi nahi.”

Abhijeet also confessed that he used to use the dating app account to talk to women. He revealed that when the news came out in the open that the singer was using the dating app, he stopped using the same. His wife came to know about it from the news as she was earlier not aware of the same.
