After the loving and caring relationship you share with your sister, all you wait for is the day when you can pamper her little one and become a cool maasi/mama. The moment when that little nugget was born, you’re out and about with them like a parent and you eventually become that go-to person for the little one. Abhishek Bachchan shares a similar relationship with his niece and nephew, Navya Naveli Nanda and Agastya Nanda. On December 6, 2018, Shweta Bachchan Nanda and Nikhil Nanda’s daughter, Navya Naveli Nanda turned 21 and she celebrated her birthday with her family. A picture went viral on social media from her birthday dinner with mother Shweta, father Nikhil and brother Agastya. Here’s the picture we are talking about:
Navya’s mama, Abhishek shared a lovely picture of the birthday girl, and wrote a birthday message for her. He wrote, "To the coolest kid in the world... Happy 21st Birthday my Navya. You are now “officially” a little lady, and a very gracious, loving and caring one at that too. From a baby who used to fit in the palm of my hand to becoming one of my dearest friends, you’ve always been mamu’s pet. Never change! Love you!"
Shweta Nanda shared an adorable picture of six-month-old baby Navya, and it was her birthday wish which won our hearts. The doting mommy wrote, "The years didn’t fly by, they took their time, and you earned every single one of them! We grew up together, you and I, figuring it out as we went along ... here we are at 21 a far cry from this 6-month-old, that I really didn’t know what to make of! HAPPY BIRTHDAY NOUV, you make it look easy, even when it isn’t. I Love U."
On December 6, 2017, Abhishek penned down an emotional birthday wish for Navya, wondering when she grew up into a confident and young woman. Abhishek wrote, “When did you grow from this to the elegant lady you are today? When did you grow from mamu picking you up from the airport to you coming to pick him up at the airport? When did you grow from mamu singing you to sleep to both of us staying up all night dancing? When did you grow from mamu shopping for you to you being my official shopper? When did you grow to decide that mamu still can't treat you like the little bundle you used to be? When? To my favourite, to my niece, to my Navya.... Happy 20th Birthday little lady. Mamu loves you very much. P.S. I have my shopping list ready. Please be prepared!”

Reminiscing a moment about how people abroad mistake her daughter and her as sisters, Shweta shared, “When we travel abroad together, people mistake my daughter and me for sisters — I love telling them my age, my daughter is cringing, jabbing me in the ribs and asking me to ‘calm down’.”
Navya Naveli Nanda’s dadaji, Amitabh Bachchan, once penned down a letter for his granddaughters, Navya and Aaradhya Bachchan. Her wrote, “My very dearest Navya and Aaradhya, You both carry a very valuable legacy on your tender shoulders – Aaradhya, the legacy of your pardadaji, Dr Harivansh Rai Bachchan…and Navya, the legacy of your pardadaji, Shri H P Nanda….Both your pardadajis gave your present surnames celebrated fame, dignity and recognition! Both of you may be a Nanda or a Bachchan, but you are also girls…women! And because you are women people will force their thinking, their boundaries on you. They will tell you how to dress, how to behave, who you can meet and where you can go."
It further stated, "Don’t live in the shadows of people’s judgement. Make your own choices in the light of your own wisdom. Don’t let anyone make you believe that the length of your skirt is a measure of your character. Don’t let anyone’s opinion of who you should be friends with, dictate who you will be friends with. Don’t get married for any other reason other than you want to get married. People will talk. They shall say some terrible things. But that doesn’t mean you have to listen to everyone. Never ever worry about – log kya kahenge.”
His letter could be further read as, “At the end of the day, you are the only one who will face the consequences of your actions, so don’t let other people make your decisions for you. Navya – the privilege your name, your surname offers you, will not protect you from the difficulties you will face because you’re a woman. Aaradhya – by the time you see and understand this, I may well not be around. But I think what I am saying today shall still be relevant. This may be a difficult, difficult world to be a woman."
He concluded it by saying, "But I believe that it is women like you that will change that. It may not be easy, setting your own boundaries, making your own choices, rising above people’s judgement. But YOU! you can set an example for women everywhere. Do this and you would have done more than I have ever done, and it will be my honor to be known not as Amitabh Bachchan, but as your grandfather!! With all my love Your Dadaji your Nana.” (Also Read: Bollywood Celeb Kids And Beautiful Bond Of Love, Respect And Care They Share With Their Grandparents)
