In an interview with the news agency ANI in 2017, Abhishek Bachchan opened up about the media scrutiny over his wife, Aishwarya Rai’s weight gain. The loving husband called Aishwarya 'Supermom' and shared how the latter does everything for their baby girl, Aaradhya. Abhishek also mentioned that Aishwarya has never spent a day in the gym and added:
“When she became a mother her career took a backseat. Today, she does everything for Aaradhya. She is supermom. Soon after Aaradhya was born, the media went at her about her weight gain. Nasty things were written, which really upset me. Anyone who knows her would know that she has never spent a day in the gym. The only time was when we were shooting Dhoom 2 (2006), and Uday Chopra, Hrithik Roshan and I dragged her.”
Speaking along the same lines, Abhishek Bachchan pointed out that people refer to Aishwarya as the most beautiful woman in the world, and she is thankful for the love that she receives. Further heaping praises on Aishwarya, he said that he is amazed by the fact that his wife never complains about anything and is always kind and compassionate. Abhishek continued:
“Till date people refer to her as the most beautiful woman in the world, and I know she is immensely grateful for the love. She values her fans and enjoys the adulation as well as the trappings of her career. Even with the hectic travel schedules and erratic work hours, I’ve never heard her complain about front or back of the plane, Maruti or Mercedes. Her focus isn’t on the trivial. It’s these things that leave me charmed.”

Aishwarya Rai Bachchan broke many hearts when she married Abhishek Bachchan on April 20, 2007, in Mumbai. The duo has been happily married for about 16 years now and are proud parents to their daughter, Aaradhya Bachchan. Abhishek and Aishwarya fell in love with each other on the sets of the film, Guru, which was released in January 2007. Soon, the couple tied the knot, and Aishwarya Rai became the 'Bachchan Bahu'.
