Abhishek Bachchan is an actor and film producer who made his Bollywood debut with the drama film, Refugee in 2000. The actor has been on Forbes India's Celebrity 100 list for four consecutive years, from 2012 to 2016. Some of his most lauded works include Sarkar, Guru, Yuva, and Dasvi.
Abhishek Bachchan comes from an illustrious family. In most scenarios, it may appear to be a blessing to be born into a family that is celebrated by crores of people. However, it can also be a heavyweight to carry, especially when it comes to carving out one's niche.
Recently, Abishek sat down to have a candid conversation with CNBC-TV18. During the interview, the actor opened up about his effort to leave a tangible legacy for his and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan's daughter, Aaradhya Bachchan, that goes beyond creative realms. He was quoted saying:
"My grandfather was a poet, my father and mother are actors, I am an actor, and so is my wife. We are a creative legacy, but if I can leave behind something tangible, I think that would be a valuable contribution to the family. I think I should work towards leaving something tangible for my daughter, apart from creativity. That’s why I look at the work I do beyond acting as an endeavour to achieve that whether it’s through sports or other businesses that I get involved in."
In the same conversation with CNBC-TV18, Abhishek Bachchan also spoke about his deep respect for his parents, Amitabh Bachchan and Jaya Bachchan. He shared that he considers his parents to be his God. Abhishek revealed that while he is not overtly religious, he has an equation with God.
However, he goes to his parents before going to the almighty. He also added that, according to him, one's parents should be the first people they lean on. He believes that as long as one has a loving, supportive, healthy and happy family, they have everything. Talking about the same, he stated:

"I don’t know if I am overtly religious. I have my equation with God, but before I go to God, I go to my parents. I think they should be the first people you lean on. To me, they are equivalent to God. I am what I am because of my family. I’m a very family-oriented person. Everything I do, I do for my family, and they are my go-to people. As long as you can go home to a loving, supportive, healthy, happy family, I think you’re good. My family’s opinion matters the most to me."
In the same conversation, Abhishek also expressed gratitude to his grandfather, poet, Harivansh Rai Bachchan. He thanked the legendary poet for establishing the Bachchan surname. The actor shared that he is proud of the surname he was bestowed with and stated:
"I am proud of the surname that my grandfather bestowed upon us, and I will work to ensure the continuity of the love and respect we receive because of the work he did. I hope my daughter and the coming generations respect that too."
