Popular Bollywood actor, Abhishek Bachchan talked about his and his father, Amitabh Bachchan's experience and the challenges they had faced during their fight against COVID-19 in a podcast with Anand Chulani. The actor spilt some beans about his stay in the hospital and revealed that Big B is a patient with severe comorbidities. For the unversed, according to Narayana Health, comorbidities is a condition when a person has more than one underlying health-related conditions present in them at once. The actor revealed many details about his father's inspirational fight against Coronavirus in the podcast, and it's nothing less than a pure source of motivation in these troubling times.

On July 11, 2020, the news of Amitabh Bachchan and Abhishek Bachchan being tested positive for the COVID-19 had flashed all over the internet. The father-son duo was taken to the hospital immediately. On August 2, 2020, Amitabh Bachchan had tested COVID-19 negative. He was discharged from the hospital and was in solitary quarantine at his home, Jalsa. Soon, Abhishek Bachchan had tested negative for the COVID-19 and had returned home after almost a month in isolation on August 8, 2020.
According to a report in IANS, Abhishek Bachchan was speaking to the International speaker, Anand Chulani, during a social media live session based on motivational and inspiring stories. In the session, the actor talked about his father and legendary actor, Amitabh Bachchan and stated that he was impressed by his father's willpower during his battle with COVID-19. Abhishek also added that his dad, Big B also has severe comorbidities, but still, at the age of 78, he was utterly positive. Abhishek said, "It was wonderful to wake up and go see my father, who last year was 78 years old, a man with severe comorbidities but him being positive and having that fighting spirit to get through this."
Going further in his interview, Abhishek Bachchan also added that somewhere deep inside his heart, he was concerned about his father's health because of his age. He said, "At that point of time my energies were obviously directed towards him and him becoming better because you fear for your parents, it's actually of a sensitive age group." During the podcast, Anand Chulani asked Abhishek to guide him through his experience while being admitted to the hospital. To which, the The Big Bull actor mentioned that it wasn't a good experience for him. Abhishek said, "It was not a nice experience for me because you know I had a family that was inflicted by this as well. If you are in a situation where you are under medical supervision, you are very powerless."

At the end of the podcast, Abhishek Bachchan talked about the 29 days he had to spend in the hospital during his battle against Coronavirus and revealed that night was the hardest time to pass. He added, "The initial nights when I was in hospital, it was tough to sleep because I didn't know really what awaited me on the other side." However, Abhishek heaped praise on his father, Amitabh Bachchan, as he called him a good roomy. The actor concluded, "My father is also a great friend of mine, so it was good to shoot the breeze with him. There was some good banter that went on, I mean he is a good roomy in that sense."
