However, there are many A-list actresses in Bollywood who took a chance by opting marital bliss when they were reigning the tinsel town. They preferred their personal lives over their career and for many, this didn't put a full stop to their careers.

It is sad that the highly-skilled actress, Bhagyashree didn’t take her career drive seriously. The beautiful face broke many hearts when she disappeared from the glamour industry. After her huge blockbuster Maine Pyar Kiya, she strangely got married at an early age of 19. The young actress no doubt garnered a lot of fame for her acting prowess, but she chose to settle down with actor-turned-producer husband, Himalaya Dasani.
In fact, in an interview, she revealed that she sacrificed her career for the person she loved the most. Though she has started doing TV soaps like Laut Aao Trisha, she can hardly create the same aura again.
Madhuri’s screen life hardly needs a mention. But still, we would like to count on movies like Hum Aapke Hain Koun, Tezaab, Khalnaayak and Dil To Pagal Hai that has made her the diva she is. Call her the empress or the reigning beauty of Bollywood, Madhuri had happily put an end to her booming career post marriage and motherhood.

The yesteryear siren, Saira Bano was happily climbing the ladder of stardom and success when she sealed her acting career by marrying Bollywood's superstar, Dilip Kumar. She has proved her mettle in Bollywood with some big-scale movies like Padosan, Junglee and Jhuk Gaya Aasmaan.
However, all the talent went futile when she tied the knot at the ripe age of 22 after a fairytale romance with the ‘tragedy king’.
Though she has never emerged as a successful actress, the song Humma Humma from Bombay got her into the game. No sooner, the fans started liking her. The Sarfarosh actress decided to leave Bollywood in order to raise her two kids. Work took a backseat for the lady after tying the knot with director Goldie Behl. Though she did a few movies after her marriage in 1990, it was an end of her journey towards stardom. She got married to a Buddhist monk and is settled in Mumbai as per reports. Even after a couple of decades, her killer looks and aura asks for attention.

It was really shocking to see the new-age girl Asin wrapping up all her Bollywood assignments and choosing home over the career. She has given up acting after marrying Micromax co-founder Rahul Sharma.
Being a part of movies like Ghajini, Ready, Bol Bachchan and having acted with bigshots like Aamir, Salman and Akshay, it gets all the more tough to believe that the actress has hung up her acting shoes to settle as a wife. We are sad that her career shrunk half way.

Marriage was least expected of Vidya Balan, who began ruling the hearts of people for her commendable performances in movies Dirty Picture, Kahaani, Paa and Ishqiya. She not only got married but also believes that women’s career doesn’t stop after marriage.
The 37-year old actress opts for performance-oriented roles and marriage or age really doesn’t matter to her. We are proud of the lady who is defying the norms with her insistence and courage.
The acting queen and mega-star, Sridevi who has given hundreds of hits to the industry was the most talked about actress of her time. We just cannot forget her stellar performances in hit films like Chandni, Mr India, Khuda Gawaah, Chaalbaaz and Laadla.
However, the top-notch actress decided to take the plunge at the peak of her career. She married Boney Kapoor and became a family-oriented girl. We guess the added responsibilities stopped her for taking more offers.
