The unfortunate Air India AI-171 crash left the entire nation in shock, which took 241 passengers' lives, including 10 crew members and two pilots. The crash even ended a 55-year-old mother, Anju Sharma's dream of reuniting with her elder daughter in London. But her journey ended in tragedy on June 12, 2025, when she lost her life in the tragic crash.
Anju Sharma had been looking forward to reuniting with her elder daughter in London, but her journey ended with the crash of the Air India flight, which had taken off from Ahmedabad. Anju hailed from Ramsaran Majra village in Haryana's Kurukshetra district and had moved to Vadodara many years ago with her husband, Pawan Sharma, who was employed in the oil industry.
Also, it is worth mentioning that she is the sister of the film actor, Milan Sharma. Her elder daughter, Nimmi, lives in London, and her younger daughter, Honey Sharma, is based in Vadodara. Recently, Anju went to Kurukshetra to spend time with her ailing parents, Jagdish Sharma, who is a retired government employee, and her mother, Santosh Sharma. Her cousin, Vaibhav shared:
"She had come a few days ago to meet her parents. She got married in 1990, but she along with her husband shifted to Vadodara. A few years back, Pawan died... Before boarding the flight, she gave a video call to her parents and talked to them."
Anju's unfortunate death has not yet been shared with her parents due to her father's health issues, as he is bedridden and in critical condition. Her death was confirmed by matching her DNA samples with her young daughter, who was living in Vadodara. On the other hand, her elder daughter kept on waiting to receive her mother at London airport, only to receive the heartbreaking news of her demise.
