Air India Plane Crash: 20-Year-Old New Bride's Dad Shared Whatsapp Story Moments Before Disaster

Khushboo Kanwar was a 20-year-old newly married lady who was all set to go to London. Her dad before her flight departure had shared a WhatsApp story from the airport.

20-year-old Khushboo Kanwar from Rajasthan's Araba Dudawata village in Baltora district was all set to join her husband in London for the first time. Destiny had other plans as she lost her life after boarding Air India flight AI171, which was headed to London's Gatwick airport on June 12, 2025, and crashed minutes after takeoff. Her father, before Khushboo's flight took off, posted a picture with her on his WhatsApp status before she headed for the departure gate of Ahmedabad.

Air India flight AI171 was all set for an international journey when an ill fate turned the tables. A report by News 18 stated that among the passengers who passed away, 12 were from Rajasthan. Khushboo was from Balotra, while the others were from Udaipur. A picture has gone viral where Khushboo was seen with her dad, who had come to drop her at the airport. He had also written a WhatsApp story where she shared about how happy he was as Khushboo was going to London. His viral WhatsApp status read:

"Aashirwadh Khushboo beta. Going to London."

In the picture, a simple Khushboo was seen wearing a white printed shirt, brown jeans and was carrying a bag and a phone. Her father, on the side, wrapped his arms around his daughter and was the happiest and proudest. As it is said, airports have the toughest goodbyes, little did he know that it was the last time he was seeing Khushboo.

Khushboo was all set to start a new beginning of her life in London, where her husband, Vipul Singh Rajpurohit, who hailed from Kharabaira Purohit in Luni, was waiting for her. The couple got married reportedly on January 18, 2025. Khushboo was the proud daughter of Madan Singh Rajpurohit, who came from the Araba Dudawata village. Khushboo's one last picture with her dad, Madan, will haunt him for life. Both of them had come to Ahmedabad International Airport from Balotra district of Rajasthan, where her husband was waiting for her to come back to London.

A video went viral on social media, where Khushboo was seen hugging her family members. It seemed as if it was before she was going to London to be with the family. The video showed all the women of the household clad in ghagra choli with ghunghat. They were hugging Khushboo and crying their hearts out as she was leaving. Khushboo's demise has sent shockwaves to her entire village in Araba Dudawata and to her in-laws' house in Luni. The family is traumatised, shocked at what's happened.

Khushboo's father was not even at home when he found out that his daughter had died in the aeroplane crash. He had just reached Mehsana after successfully leaving his daughter at the airport when he came to know that his beloved Khushboo had met with an ill fate. Khushboo was all geared up to meet her husband, Vipul and was in India, managing between her maternal and paternal home, as she was getting her travel and passport documents sorted for her travel to London. Vipul had returned to London, just two months after his marriage to Khushboo.
