Air India Plane Crash: UK Based Social Media Influencers Shared Last Farewell Video For India

An Air India flight, Boeing 787-8 Dreamliner, bound for London from Ahmedabad was carrying 242 people, crashed minutes after the takeoff from the Ahmedabad International Airport on the afternoon of June 12, 2025. It is one of the worst tragedies for the aviation sector in India. Now, on the flight, there were two London-based social media influencers who, before boarding the flight, had made a farewell video for India. Little did they know that it would be their last video.

UK based social media influencers' last video before plane crash surfaces

Jamie Meek, is a social media influencer and a yoga enthusiast from London who had completed a memorable trip to Gujarat. Along with him, there was Fiongal Greenlaw-Meek too, and both of them shared an array of stories on their Instagram handle, where they showcased their final night in India. It was heartbreakingly the last clip of the influencers who were on board the London-bound aircraft. Jamie talked about his mind-blowing experience in India and called it magical. He made a clip along with Fiongal and said:

"There’s been too much... It would be so nice to remember this and share it with everybody because we really have been on quite a journey. We’ve just had the most delicious thali food. It was a perfect way to round up the trip. So yeah, excited to share it all with you actually.”

Jamie had also tagged The House of MG, where he and the other social media influencer, Fiongal, stayed. Jamie had also given a view of the property where he stayed. For the unversed, he was the director of The Wellness Foundry, which is a London-based centre related to spiritual wellness and tarot reading. Jamie and Fiongal had enjoyed a delicious Gujarati meal before they rounded off their trip. Fiongal, in the other clip, had also spoken about his experience in India and shared:

"So it’s our last night in India. Uh and we’ve had a magical experience really. It’s been, yeah, there’s been some quiet mind blowing... mind blowing things have happened... we are going to put this all together and create a vlog. I think it’s my first ever vlog... we’re going to make a vlog about the whole trip. Yeah and share it.”

UK-based social media influencers' goodbye video to India

Jamie's video was shared many times on social media. A picture of the passenger list went viral on social media, which had the name of Jamie. The flight crashed straight into the hotel mess of BJ Medical College located in the Meghaninagar area, right after the flight took off. A video that went viral of Jamie and Fiongal showed snippets of their conversation. The conversation between the influencers was:

"We are at the airport, just boarding. Goodbye India.” It’s a 10-hour flight back to England.”

The social media influencers then in the video shared that one should not lose patience in life and shared of having chai at the airport. They also shared that they were going back to UK, happily and with a calm state of mind. The Air India flight AI171 had 242 passengers on board. As per the current report, there was just one survivor who was seated in 11A and miraculously survived the crash. The plane rammed into a hostel, and as per a report by NDTV, five students died.
