The unofficial 'Queen' of the Cannes Film Festival, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan is back on the red carpet and how! She has been a regular at the event for more than a decade, and needless to say, once again, she has left us awestruck and speechless with her timeless beauty and grace. Not only did she honoured Indian culture with her outfit, but she made a subtle statement with her 'sindoor-clad' look. However, amid other aspects of her look, the jewellery has certainly gained the spotlight. It's more special as recently we have only seen emeralds-encrusted jewellery pieces at Bollywood events and weddings, and Aishwarya has boldly brought rubies back into the trend. Aishwarya Rai Bachchan wore heirloom jewellery by Manish Malhotra at Cannes 2025 

Aishwarya Rai Bachchan chose to go with a Manish Malhotra saree for her appearance at the 78th Cannes Film Festival. The look has certainly impressed fashion critics and fans alike, however, it is the jewellery which has become the talk of the town. The diva's jewellery, curated by Manish Malhotra jewellery, was nothing short of a royal affair. Particularly, three major pieces of the heirloom jewellery outshone everything else. Her long standout necklace is made with more than 290 carats of Mozambique rubies which reflected opulence.

The statement piece was complemented by a sculptural necklace made with over 30 carats of rubies delicately paired with uncut diamonds. Set in 18k gold, it gave a regal edge to the actress. Amid the spectacular necklaces, Aishwarya Rai's Renaissance Of Rubies statement ring added its elegance. Made in an intricate floral design with rubies and brilliant uncut diamonds, they showcased the wonder of traditional Indian craftsmanship on a global stage. The heirloom jewellery was a perfect ode to Indian legacy and royal heritage.

Aishwarya Rai Bachchan wore a saree after a long hiatus at the Cannes Film Festival 

In previous years, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan was spotted wearing gowns with long trains on the red carpet at international stages. But, after a long time, she chose to wear a saree, and her Indian look mesmerised the onlookers. The actress wore an ivory hued Banarasi saree in her first appearance with rose gold and silver which has been handwoven using the fading traditional Kadwa technique from Varanasi. 

Under the Kadwa technique, every motif was crafted separately with an intricate method. Along with handwoven brocade motifs, it also featured hand-embroidered zari detailing in real silver, enhancing its beauty. At the same time, she draped a white tissue handwoven dupatta with real gold and silver zardozi embroidery. Overall, her look represented Indian craftsmanship, culture and heritage to the world.
