Famous fashion designer, Neeta Lulla's journey into the world of fashion was forced upon her. The most celebrated Indian designer never wanted to study, but it was her in-laws' insistence that forced her to take up tailoring. It was much later that Neeta Lulla realised the thing she took as a hubby was a full-fledged course that opened her road to the world of glam and glitz. During the course of her glorious career, Neeta Lulla found some strong bonds and one of them was with the former Miss Universe, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan.
Neeta Lulla not only designer some of the jaw-dropping looks of Aishwarya Rai on-screen, but she also became the magician behind her wedding day look. When Aishwarya Rai got married to Abhishek Bachchan in 2007, the actress asked Neeta Lulla to design her wedding day outfit. Aishwarya had opted for a beautiful golden Kanjeevaram saree and her traditional jewellery had added more charm to her look.

The saree had real gold thread work and a lot of crystals. According to murmurs, the saree designed by Neeta Lulla cost crores. However, some reports also claimed that it cost around 75 lakhs. Recently, Neeta revealed the murmurs around it and whether they were true.
Recently, in an interview with Wiping Out The Norm, Neeta was asked if reports which claimed Aishwarya's saree, designed by her, was in crores and crores true. To this, Neeta laughed it off and stated that there was no 'utne paise ki'. She added that those were mere rumours. Talking about the same, Neeta said:
"Itne paise ki, there was no utne paise ki. It was a regular Kanjeevaram saree and there was a regular blouse with a little bit of zari work."

Earlier, in another media interaction, Neeta revealed that Aishwarya's wedding saree, which was reported to be around Rs. 75 lakhs, was all false. She called it a mere 'awash' and said that there was no truth in it.
