One of the most beautiful women in the world, Aishwarya Rai, is the perfect example of beauty with brains. The former Miss World broke many hearts when she decided to marry actor Abhishek Bachchan. In 2011, the couple hopped on to parenthood and welcomed their daughter, Aaradhya Bachchan.
We have often seen how Aishwarya Rai uses her wit and intelligence to deal with controversial questions. The actress, who is often hailed for her fearless statements, never minces her words. Not only in India but on international platforms, Aishwarya’s confidence is untameable. However, the diva makes sure to promote her culture and roots across the globe.
Something similar happened when she graced The Oprah Winfrey Show in 2005. Aishwarya graced the show before tying the knot with Abhishek Bachchan and addressed people's stereotypical beliefs about her country. When asked by the host about public display of affection not widely accepted in India, the actress responded by saying:
“It’s not something commonly seen. People do kiss, but it’s more of a private expression, not something you’d see on street corners. Art reflects life, and that’s how it’s portrayed in our cinema.”
In the same interactions, when Oprah also discussed premarital sex and asked Aishwarya whether the practice of premarital sex is accepted in her country. Without blinking her eye, Aishwarya boldly voiced her opinion on the same and said:
“Broadly speaking, it isn’t the good thing to do.”
Earlier, in an interview, Abhishek highlighted that his daughter has been trying to understand the weight and legacy of their surname. Crediting it wholeheartedly to his wife, Aishwarya, Abhishek mentioned that his ladylove has already taught their daughter to be respectful of their surname and told her about the great legacy her grandfather and great-grandfather have carried over the ages.

In an interview with the Hindustan Times, Aishwarya talked about inculcating traditions in her daughter, Aaradhya. The doting mommy had pointed out that teaching traditions are natural to her and not conditional, and this is because she was raised similarly. She was quoted as saying:
“I think inculcating traditions in my daughter is natural to me, it is not conditional. That is how I am raised. So, what we end up doing as parents, knowingly or unknowingly, we pass on to our children as traditions because that is the natural flow of life.”
Aishwarya Rai and Abhishek Bachchan’s love story started on the sets of Umrao Jaan. But way before it, he was mesmerised by her beauty when he visited Switzerland for the recce of a film. Aishwarya Rai was shooting for her Bollywood debut film, Aur Pyaar Ho Gaya, at the same location as Abhishek’s best friend, Bobby Deol. Aishwarya and Abhishek met through Bobby, and he was smitten by her.
