Bollywood has always been recognised globally for its magical and grand love stories with soulful music. However, it has been decades since a romantic drama film ignited a frenzy among fans and became a blockbuster. It seems that Yash Raj Films' Saiyaara, directed by Mohit Suri, has broken this years-long drought of romantic movies. Amidst this surprising success of Saiyaara, Ajay Devgn's Son of Sardaar 2's release has been postponed. Moreover, a popular Bollywood analyst and insider has claimed that four heroes have become 'insecure' of Ahaan's blockbuster debut.
Son Of Sardaar 2 stars Ajay Devgn, Mrunal Thakur, Ravi Kishan and the late actor, Mukul Dev. This slapstick comedy film was originally scheduled for release on July 25, 2025; however, the release date has been pushed back by a week, and it will now hit theatres on August 1. When the trailer for Son Of Sardaar 2 was released, it received a mixed bag of reactions. Many people were pleased that the nostalgic film, Son Of Sardaar, was getting a sequel. However, other aspects, such as the age gap between Ajay and Mrunal, the comic dialogues, and dance numbers, were heavily critiqued.
Amidst this, YRF's Saiyaara, directed by Mohit Suri, has surpassed expectations for its opening-day collections. With two debutants, Ahaan Panday and Aneet Padda, in the film, the film collected Rs. 21 crores on day 1, which is a rare feat for films with newcomers. With more and more raving reviews coming in from all corners of the country, the frenzy for Saiyaara seems unstoppable. Hence, Ajay Devgn's SOS 2 getting postponed has netizens convinced that it was done so to avoid clashing with the YRF film, as it could be adverse for the former film's earnings.
One Reddit user wrote, "Debutant forced Superstar to change release date" while another commenter said "Got Scared Of Saiyaara". Other users have deduced that maybe the makers have realised after the response to the trailer that the film isn't up to the mark, and won't perform well in theatres if it clashes with a good film. One user mentioned that the first Son Of Sardaar had become a blockbuster film, despite competing with another YRF film, Jab Tak Hai Jaan, starring Shah Rukh Khan as the lead. The Redditor said:
"Ajay clashed with JTHJ which had hype of new pairing of SRK Katrina, Yash Chopra's last directorial etc without any fear but he is postponing now..... Looks like SOS 2 is not any good at all and he knows. First part jesi bhi thi Hasi aa jati thi usme but SOS2 ka Teaser was most unfunny teaser of a comedy movie ever."

Popular Indian film trade analyst, Komal Nahta, has claimed that four heroes have become 'insecure' after Ahaan Panday's record-breaking debut with YRF's Saiyaara. According to him, one hero reportedly told his colleague that he is finding it hard to sleep at night due to anxiety about his own career following Ahaan's debut. Nahta then said that another newcomer actor is asking around to find out if the numbers about the pre-bookings are real or not. The trade analyst then said that many producers inflate advance booking numbers to create hype, but Saiyaara's numbers are real.
Nahta revealed that the third actor "is busy spreading stories that he is privy to inside information that the advance booking figures are being hyped by the producer of the film". As for the fourth hero, it is someone with around twenty films under his belt who cannot concentrate on his current projects since he keeps asking everyone whether the hype for Saiyaara is real.
