Ajay Devgn and Kajol had met each other on the sets of Hulchul (1995), which was their first film together. Eventually, the two had become such close friends that Kajol had started to take love advice from Ajay. But, as destiny had it, the soulmates had ended up together and had decided to tie the knot on February 24, 1999, in an intimate ceremony. Though the media had a verdict that the relationship of Kajol and Ajay would not last as the two share very different personalities, the lovebirds have stood firm despite all odds till date and have proved everyone wrong.
Together, they have two beautiful kids, Nysa Devgan and Yug Devgan. Both Ajay and Kajol dote on their children and make sure to keep them grounded by teaching them good values in life. April 20, 2022, had marked the ever-so-stylish Nysa’s birthday, and the loving father, Ajay had taken to his IG handle and had shared a beautiful portrait of his princess. In addition, he had penned a heartfelt note to wish Nysa, which could be read as:
“Hey daughter, you are special. Today, tomorrow, forever. Happy birthday Nysa. Privileged to have you.”

Ahead of Father’s Day 2022, Ajay Devgn sat for a candid conversation with the Hindustan Times. The doting daddy shared that the concept of ‘strict parenting’ belongs to a bygone era, and with changing times, today’s generation call for a friendly approach. He further talked about his father, Veeru Devgn, who was an action choreographer, and revealed that he was a rigorous father to him. In his words:
“Today parenting is a full-time passion. You must be protective about your kids but you also need to be friends with them. The need to instil good values in them; the need to discipline them is definitely important. However, the way the world is evolving, “strictness” per se, has no place in parenting. When I was growing up, my father was a strict man. However, I understood the reason behind his being strict. Kajol’s parents did a fantastic job of bringing her up.”
In the same interview, Ajay revealed that as a father, he has a lot of candid conversations with his kids, Nysa and Yug. He also said how he wants them to stay grounded human beings just like him and his actress-wife, Kajol, despite enjoying celebrity status. Ajay can be quoted as saying:
“Me and Kajol explain to them what is right and wrong and allow them to imbibe things. Of course, they make mistakes, of course they disobey on occasion. When that happens, there are more conversations. Both Kajol and I are grounded as people despite our celebrity status. We want our children to be grounded too.”

In today’s digital era, the penetration of social media and the internet is widely visible in everyone’s life. And more often, star kids become an easy target of the shutterbugs. Talking about the early exposure of his kids to the limelight, the doting daddy, Ajay spoke about his feelings when his daughter, Nysa’s pictures surfaces all over the internet. He stated:
“When times change, you can do nothing. Social media is the order of the day. There is no escaping it. Why should it be any different for my kids?”
