Ajinkya Rahane is one of the few Indian cricketers who are often regarded as one of the most outstanding players in Test cricket. The iconic batsman has so many jaw-dropping records to his name. Ajinkya was the first batsman to hit six fours in a single over in IPL (Indian Premier League) for his team, Rajasthan Royals, against Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB). He is also only the fifth batsman in the history of Indian cricket to hit centuries in each innings of a Test match back in 2015 against South Africa. The cricketer received the Arjuna Award for his incredible contribution to Indian cricket in 2016.

The iconic cricketer, Ajinkya Rahane is also one of the few cricketers, who has scored more than 1000 runs in a single season of Ranji Trophy. Not just batting, Rahane also holds the record of taking the most catches (8) by a non-wicket-keeper in a single match. However, he is best known for his play in Test cricket. The Indian batsman is only the fourth Indian to score a Test century on his debut match at cricket's Mecca, Lord's. He is also the first Indian cricketer to score a century in the World Test Championship.

Despite contributing so much to Test cricket, Ajinkya Rahane was dropped from the Indian team, and his last Test appearance was in 2023 on the West Indies tour. After almost two years, Ajinkya has talked about his time on the Indian team in an unfiltered interview with the Indian Express. The cricketer admitted feeling bad when he wasn't called up for the Indian team despite contributing so much for many years.

Further, in the same interview, Ajinkya Rahane took an indirect dig at BCCI and the selectors by saying that in today's time, if a cricketer wants to be in the playing eleven, then he should be in the news. The cricketer admitted that he was a shy guy for most of his career and is now slowly getting open in the media. Not only this, he also added that he always believed in putting his entire focus on playing and letting his cricket do the talking. But Ajinkya admitted that things have changed now. He said:

"I was always shy, now I have opened up. My focus has been to play cricket and go home. Nobody told me that going ahead, certain things will be needed. Today also, sometimes I feel ki bas cricket khelo, ghar jao. Now I am told I need to speak up, talk about my hard work. People say you need to be in the news ... I don't have a PR team, my only PR is my cricket. I have now realised that staying in the news is important. Otherwise, people think that I'm out of the circle."

Ajinkya Rahane also revealed that he received an offer to work as a commentator or expert during the Border-Gavaskar Trophy 2025, but he turned it down without a second thought. The cricketer is currently the captain of the Mumbai team and has led them to the Ranji Trophy in the 2023-24 season. Despite his exceptional batting in the Ranji Trophy, he wasn't called up for the Indian Test team, which could've benefitted from his experience and form. In his interview, The cricketer showed his bitterness towards Ajit Agarkar's selection committee.

Moving on to Ajinkya Rahane's personal life, he is happily married to a stunning woman named Radhika. The couple got married on November 26, 2014, at a traditional wedding in Mumbai. The wedding ceremony took place as per the Maharashtrian rituals, which was followed by a lavish reception. For the uninitiated, Ajinkya and Radhika were neighbours before becoming life partners. The couple was living in the same neighbourhood, Mulund. They became friends and eventually fell in love because of their shared passion for films and sports.

After dating each other for some time, Ajinkya Rahane and Radhika informed their parents about their relationship, and they agreed to their decision to get married. The couple welcomed their first child, a baby girl, on October 4, 2019, and chose the name 'Aarya' for her. Ajinkya and Radhika embraced parenthood for a second time on October 5, 2022, after the latter gave birth to a baby boy named Raghav.

Once, in an old interview with ABP Live, Ajiinkya Rahane shared an interesting anecdote about his wedding. The cricketer revealed that he wore a T-shirt and jeans to his marriage. Ajinkya shared that he had no time to buy clothes. The cricketer admitted that his wife, Radhika, was absolutely furious seeing him wearing a T-shirt on their wedding day. However, he purchased a sherwani at the last minute with the help of his family members.

Just like Ajinkya Rahane, the cricketer's wife, Radhika Rahane is also a reserved person. The couple is rarely spotted at public events and prefers to live a low-key life far from the reach of the media spotlight.
