Mukesh Ambani and Nita Ambani’s son, Akash Ambani got engaged to Diamantaire Russell Mehta’s daughter, Shloka Mehta in an intimate ceremony in Goa on March 24, 2018. After the close-knitted engagement ceremony, Ambani’s hosted a grand party in the honour of the newly-engaged couple, Akash and Shloka. Mukesh and Nita hosted a star-studded post-engagement party for their son Akash and daughter-in-law, Shloka yesterday evening (March 26) at their home, Antilia. The grand party was attended by high-profile friends of the Ambanis’ from both Bollywood and cricket world. The names on the guest list included Shah Rukh Khan, Gauri Khan, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Karan Johar, Katrina Kaif, John Abraham, Rajkumar Hirani, Zaheer Khan, Sagarika Ghatge, Harbhajan Singh, Kiran Rao and many others. All the celebrities made a stylish entry at the bash. The entire Antilia was decorated with exotic flowers, to make Akash and Shloka’s day even more special. The couple looked stylish in their formal avatars. Akash looked dapper in a blue three-piece suit and Shloka wore a gorgeous coffee-coloured gown with minimal diamond jewellery and nude makeup. The couple looked straight out of a fairy-tale as they happily posed for the shutterbugs. Contrary to the reports that it is an arranged marriage, the couple dated each other for 5 long years, before solemnising their relationship into the marriage. Akash and Shloka know each other from their school days, when they both studied in the same school, Dhirubhai Ambani International School. Both Ambani and Mehta family have been friends for a very long time. Talking about his ladylove, Akash said, “I am truly happy that our friendship has blossomed into love and Shloka and I are getting married, she is a truly special and extremely kind-hearted person." Akash is happy that their friendship blossomed into love and today, they are happily engaged. The soon-to-be Ambani bahu also had a lot to say about her would-be hubby. Talking about Akash, Shloka said, “Despite years and busy schedules, we have always found ways to stay connected. Akash is incredibly grounded, and we share a bond based on meaning and memories. We don't just get along - we also support each other's hopes and aspirations and are determined to build a sense of purpose into our lives together. We are lucky to have a love that began with being best friends and luckier still to have such supportive families."
The lovely couple visited Sidhivinayak temple yesterday, along with their family, to seek the blessings of the almighty for their new beginning. The wedding bells will ring in December this year and we can’t wait to see how grand it is going to be!
