The Ambani family needs no introduction as they are the most powerful business leaders in Asia. Business tycoon, Mukesh Ambani recently outlined the succession plan of his 220 billion dollars conglomerate. He equally distributed his empire among his three kids, Akash Ambani, Isha Ambani and Anant Ambani.
It was in June 2022, when Mukesh Ambani announced that he had stepped down from his position at Reliance Jio and his elder son, Akash Ambani has taken over the same. Mukesh Ambani had handed all the responsibility of the telecom unit, Reliance Jio Infocomm Ltd., to the new chairman, Akash Ambani.

And now, Akash Ambani proved that he is a true businessman by featuring on the Time 100 Next. The head of India’s largest telecom firm, Jio, Akash has been named on the magazine’s list of the world’s rising stars. Hailing the 30-year-old junior Ambani, Time quoted:
“The scion of Indian industrialist royalty, Akash Ambani was always expected to rise in business. But he has been putting in hard work.”
Akash Ambani has worked very hard to attain the position of Reliance Jio Infocomm Ltd.’s Chairman. He had guided the key acquisitions of Jio in the digital market and has been deeply involved in new-age technologies, including AI-ML and blockchain. He also helped in trailblazing global investments by tech majors and investors in 2020. Akash Ambani along with his sister, Isha Ambani Piramal, has been part of teams that negotiated Meta Platforms Inc.’s investment in the group and has been on board of Reliance Retail Ventures Ltd. and JioMart since 2014.

In August 2022, Mukesh Ambani introduced his daughter, Isha Ambani Piramal as the new leader of Reliance Retail business. While speaking at the 45th Annual General Meeting of Reliance Industries, Isha was introduced as the head of the retail business by Mukesh Ambani.
In the same meeting, Mukesh Ambani also identified his youngest son, Anant Ambani as the leader of the new energy business. Anant will be focusing on the conglomerate’s new energy business. Speaking up about the succession, Mukesh Ambani had stated:
“Akash and Isha have assumed leadership roles in Jio and Retail respectively. They have been passionately involved in our consumer businesses since inception. Anant has also joined our New Energy business with great zeal."
