Actor-turned-author, Twinkle Khanna is well-known for her quick wit and blunt manner when expressing her opinions. Not only has she released four books, but her column in The Times Of India, Mrs Funnybones, is widely popular for her ability to address serious issues with a touch of humour. Recently, Twinkle's book, Welcome To Paradise, was declared the winner in the Popular Fiction category of the Crossword Book Award 2024. However, it seems her doting husband, Akshay Kumar is even prouder of her achievement than she is!
Twinkle Khanna's book, Welcome To Paradise, was recently named the winner of the Popular Fiction category in the Crossword Book Award 2024. Twinkle celebrated the huge win by taking to her Instagram handle with a video of her accepting the award at the event. Her doting hubby, Akshay Kumar was quick to reshare the same and express his pride in his wife.
Akshay reposted Twinkle's video to his story with a sweet note celebrating her achievement. He also hilariously referred to the former actress as his 'trophy wife' and included a kissing face emoji in it. Akshay's note could be read as:
"My trophy wife-literally. But she earns her own accolades. So proud of my Crossword Popular Choice Award winner."
Twinkle Khanna's original video, which Akshay reshared, was posted to her Instagram handle on Monday, December 9, 2024. It featured a photo of Twinkle proudly holding her award and glimpses of her going up to the stage to receive it. It further featured clips of her giving her acceptance speech. However, the most adorable moment of the video had to be the picture of her trophy on a table beside her book and her cute doggo, Mr Jeeves.
Twinkle posted the video with Queen's popular track, We Are The Champions as the background music. The author also penned a long but heartfelt caption to celebrate the moment, part of which could be read as:

"Last night, Welcome to Paradise won the Crossword Book Award 2024 in the Popular Fiction category and I decided to celebrate. Among the goodies in one of the hampers was a chocolate cake. I sliced a piece, left it on the coffee table, and when I came back—Mr. Jeeves, had consumed it. This led to a midnight dash to the vet to get my "celebration" pumped out of his stomach. These things only happen to me, which is why I'll never run out of stories."
Twinkle Khanna's caption revealed a concerning albeit funny tidbit about her doggo, Mr Jeeves being rushed to the hospital at midnight after eating a slice of chocolate cake. Well, all the dog lovers will be happy to know that Mr Jeeves is 'a little tired but fine.' Twinkle concluded her heartfelt caption with the words:
"Mr Jeeves is a little tired but fine, and so am I. A big shout out to my friend and editor, @chikisarkar We fight over every story but, dare I say, produce some winners. PS Since Freddie Mercury and his music play a prominent role in Welcome to Paradise, I thought this was the perfect song."

Her second book, The Legend of Lakshmi Prasad was a collection of short stories. With her third book, Pyjamas Are Forgiving, Twinkle became India's highest-selling female author in 2018, as per Nielsen BookScan India. In 2023, she released her fourth book, Welcome to Paradise.
