A marriage proposal which was dependent on the box-office result of a film had decided for Akshay Kumar and Twinkle Khanna’s future. When Mela (2000) turned out to be a flop, it changed the life of Bollywood’s Khiladi, Akshay. When Akshay had asked Twinkle to marry him, she told him if Mela wouldn’t work, she would marry him. And fortunately for him, the film didn’t work and on January 7, 2001, Akshay and Twinkle had tied the knot. A glimpse of their beautiful relationship was seen on their 19th wedding anniversary when Akshay had given a visual representation of their married life. Sharing a picture with Twinkle, Akshay had written, “Visual representation of what married life looks like...some days you wanna cuddle and some days look like...as you can see. All said and done, I wouldn’t have it any other way, Happy Anniversary Tina...with love from Pakshirajan.”

A few hours ago, Twinkle Khanna posted a monochrome picture with Akshay Kumar, who was playfully mimicking her pose in a one-shoulder dress. Akshay and Twinkle twinned in black sweatshirts and while he sported a moustache look, she aced her pout face. Twinkle captioned the post as “Making fun of each other as we go along. Dude, after this you are really going to get a cold shoulder in more ways than one:) #YouMakeMyHeartHumAHappySongSometimes.”
In another instance of Twinkle Khanna taking a jibe at Akshay Kumar, in 2019, the actress-turned-author had posted a picture of her hubby wearing a black turtleneck. Trolling him for not knowing the meaning of ‘exponentially’, Twinkle had written, "A tip for Indian men: A black turtleneck can make most of you seem exponentially smarter- Just don’t ask the woman sitting on the other side of your granola what exponentially’ means. Also it doesn’t help if you call the other person ’Maha Pakau’ when they give you the definition." In September 2020, Akshay Kumar had turned 53 and he had celebrated his birthday with his family in Scotland. Twinkle Khanna had given a sneak-peek into the intimate celebration of Akshay's special day and the best birthday gift he had received from his little ones. Sharing a picture of the card made by Nitara which had “I Love You Daddy” written on it and a happy picture with the birthday boy, Twinkle had written, “A small celebration for the big boy’s birthday!” Akshay had commented on the post with an array of hearts.

Twinkle Khanna and Akshay Kumar are each other’s biggest critics and fans, and they have no qualms in sharing unfiltered opinions about one another. A few months ago, Twinkle had revealed why her hubby, Akshay isn’t allowed to make coffee at home anymore. Sharing a picture of Akshay, holding a coffee cup, her witty caption could be read as “Writers need caffeine almost as much as pencils require graphite.
