Akshay Kumar is one of the most talented superstars in Bollywood, and his incredible career films is well-enough a proof of the same. The handsome hunk has effortlessly made his way into the hearts of several audiences with his exceptional performances, good looks and edge of the seat action scenes. In his personal life, Akshay is married to Twinkle Khanna and the duo is blessed with two kids, Aarav and Nitara.
In a candid interaction with cricketer, Shikhar Dhawan on his new show, Dhawan Karenge, Akshay Kumar made some special revelations about his children. He spoke about his firstborn, Aarav leaving home at the age of 15, in order to study abroad. The doting father remarked he was apprehensive about his son’s decision and didn’t want him to do so. However, he wasn’t able to stop Aarav either, since he too, back in the days, left home at 14. He narrated:
“My son Aarav is studying at the university in London. He left home at the age of 15. He was always fond of studying and wanted to stay alone. It was his decision to move even though I didn’t want him to go. However, I could not stop him because I left my home at the age of 14.”

Speaking along the same lines, Akshay then credited his son, Aarav for staying grounded despite having moved out of his parents’ home and living an independent life. The actor remarked that his young boy is self-sufficient and is capable of carrying out all household chores, including cooking and laundry. Akshay further revealed that Aarav doesn’t prefer buying expensive clothing and leads a simple life. In his words:
“He does his own laundry, he is a good cook, does the utensils and doesn’t even want to buy expensive clothes. In fact, he goes to a second-hand store, Thrifty, to buy clothes because he doesn’t believe in wastage.”
Moving forward towards another segment of the interview, Akshay Kumar spilled beans whether his son, Aarav Kumar would follow the former’s footsteps and venture into acting. The doting father responded how neither he nor his wife, Twinkle ever forced their son, Aarav to take up any career choice. Moreover, he explained that his son has a knack for fashion and has clearly revealed his dislike for acting. Comparing his son and his daughter, Nitara’s contrasting likes, Akshay concluded:
“We never forced him to do anything; he is interested in fashion, he doesn’t want to be a part of cinema. He came to me and said that I don’t want to do films. I said this is your life, do what you want to do. I am happy the way Twinkle and I have brought up Aarav; he is a very simple boy. My daughter, on the other hand, likes clothes.”
