It is very disheartening and distressful when any celebrity washes their dirty linen in public. Or for that matter, when their personal issues are brought up publicly, it is very heartful for the fans. Something like this happened when Bollywood actress, Pooja Bedi and her father, Kabir Bedi’s tiff got public and became the talk of the town. To give you a flashback, it was when Kabir tied the knot with much-younger, Parveen Dusanj in 2017, things started to tend downwards for Pooja and him.
The problem here is that Kabir’s wife, Parveen is 4 years younger to Pooja. And it all blasted when Pooja had gone to Twitter and posted a derogatory remark for her ‘father’s new wife’. She had then tweeted, “Ever fairy tale has a wicked witch or an evil step-mother! Mine just arrived! @KabirBedi just married @parveendusanj.” Ever since then, things have not been cordial between them and Pooja has not been in contact with her father, Kabir. And now, it seems all has been sorted between the father-daughter duo. Thanks to the upcoming Bollywood star and Pooja’s darling daughter, Alaia Furniturewala. The young girl finally managed to bridge the gap between Kabir and Pooja. It was in December 2018, that Alaia convinced her mother to invite Kabir for her 21st birthday bash. The get-together at the bash eased things between Kabir and Pooja.
Talking to SpotboyE, Pooja shared, “My father and I had issues in 2012. However, I have never allowed that to interfere in my kids’ relationship with him or Parveen. I have kept an open heart and open channel. Since a few months my father and I have been meeting and getting closer and rebuilding our bond. The Bedi bond has always been strong. We were extremely tight-knit and will very soon be again. By the way, he called me about the #MenToo campaign and was very proud of me. We have loved each other a lifetime, barring a little hiccup in between.” (Also Read: Ishaan's Comment On Priyanka's Cannes Picture Proves He Shares Friendly Bond With Shahid's Ex)

Recently, in an interview with The Times of India, was asked about competition in the showbiz world. On this note, she shared that she is unfazed by the number of new faces in Bollywood as she stresses everyone has different things to offer. The budding star was quoted as saying, "There is so much going on for actresses today. Janhvi (Kapoor) and Sara (Ali Khan, Saif's daughter) made their debuts last year. This year it's Ananya (Panday, Chunky's daughter) and me, among others. I think our film choices have been different from each other and that makes it exciting. We aren't trying to fit in." She had further gone to add that her competitors "are bringing our individuality and choices to the table."
Alaia will soon make her Bollywood debut with Jawani Janeman, which happens to be Nitin Kakkar's directorial venture. The actress will be seen essaying the role of Saif Ali Khan's on-screen daughter. When she was asked if she has drawn some inspiration from the star, she had retorted, "It's a funny derivative. I am playing Saif Ali Khan's daughter, not the real-life Sara. In fact, the character is a lot like the real me. The audience will not just get to see me perform but will also get a little glimpse into my real life." And had added, "He is one of the finest actors we have, and I hope to learn a lot from him.” (Do Check: Hina Khan's BF, Rocky Jaiswal Bashes Filmfare's Jitesh Pillai For Trolling Her Cannes 2019 Look)
Once in an interview with The Quint, Pooja was asked about her take on daughter, Alaia becoming a rage on social media, the mother was quoted as saying, “Alaia is a massive social media star and full credit to her because, I have probably 1 lac something followers on Instagram and she has 3.5 or may be 4 lacs by now. She is headstrong and she is focused, and she is disciplined, and she is dedicated.”
Praising her daughter's bold caption to one of her Instagram posts, she had said, “I am more than my breasts,” which she had written on social media, took the whole country by storm. She is free to empower herself and people around her, to flaunt her thoughts, to flaunt her being, to flaunt whatever she chooses to flaunt, and she is completely safe and secure being the person she is. I admire that."
Last year in 2018, the Jo Jeeta Wohi Sikander actress had gotten engaged with Maneck Contractor, who is an alumnus of her school, The Lawrence School Sanawar. The two were about to tie the knot, but fate had different plans and their wedding was called off. When she was about to get married to him, Pooja had opened up about the support from her kids. Pooja had stated, “What parents need to make clear to their children post-divorce is that whoever comes into their lives is not a threat to the children in any manner because the position that they occupy cannot be occupied by the children. It is a completely different space and in fact, the person who comes into your life is one more person to love and to be loved by.” (Also Read: Parth Samthaan Took Care Of Erica Fernandes When She Fell Sick On The Sets Of Kasautii Zindagii Kay)
She had further retorted, “That’s the way I grew up after my parents got divorced. My children adore Maneck. They love him and they are just happy for the two of us and they think we are perfect for each other. In fact, my daughter and my son have wanted me to settle down for many years now. They are just utterly delighted that I am finally doing so.”
Pooja had gotten divorced from her first husband Farhan Furniturewala over 16 years ago, she had once given a great piece of advice for the couples that have gone through a divorce. Pooja Bedi was then quoted as saying, “I have a message for all those who have gone through broken relationships. There is no expiry date on love, there is no age by which you stop loving and there is so much of love out there in the world. There is always somebody out there who is meant for you. Keep your hearts open, go out and find the right person that is meant for you. One dead relationship doesn’t mean the end of love forever.” (Checkout: Deepika Padukone Posts Her First Cannes 2019 Look, Ranveer Singh Calls Her 'Elegance Ki Moorat')
Looking back at her past failed marriage, she had also stated, “I have had relationships that have not worked out in the past, my marriage didn’t work out technically in the past but I look back at all my relationships with great love and affection. I am on wonderful terms with all of them because I choose to thank them for whatever they brought into my life. So, I thank them for the journey that we shared and look forward with great hope.”
What an amazing move Alaia! Wishing you all the luck for your upcoming debut movie, Jawani Janeman!
