The ongoing tension between India and Pakistan has the entire country on edge. Politicians, celebrities, diplomats, and citizens have all come together to support the nation and stand against Pakistan as a united front. However, days after the clash began, actress Alia Bhatt reacted to the conflict, which left the netizens feeling like there might be an ulterior motive for her post.
The last week brought a whole new turn to the enrage our country had been feeling since the attack in Pahalgam on April 22, 2025. May 7, 2025, marked avenged justice for the victims of the attack after India successfully performed a precision strike under 'Operation Sindoor'. However, as things escalated between the two nations, so did the call for war among a section of netizens. Nonetheless, the entire country showed a united front against terrorism. Amid that, several celebrities lauded the armed forces for their bravery. Some celebs had maintained their silence, but on May 13, 2025, actress, Alia Bhatt decided to pen an emotional note about the tension on the border. A part of her post read:
"The last few nights have felt... different. There's a certain stillness in the air when a nation holds its breath. And over the past few days, we've felt that stillness. That quiet anxiety. That pulse of tension that hums beneath every conversation, behind every news notification, around every dinner table. We have felt the weight of knowing that somewhere, out there in the mountains, our soldiers are awake, alert, and in danger.
In the same post, Alia Bhatt added that while most of them were tucked in the safety of their own homes, there were men and women standing in the dark, making sure that the citizens got a peaceful night's sleep. She added that the reality of how some were sacrificing their entire lives to ensure others got to live it, did something to her. She added that it is not just an act of bravery but sacrifice. She stated:
While most of us are tuckered into our homes, there are men and women standing in the dark, guarding our sleep with theirs. With their lives. And that reality... it does something to you. Because you realise this isn't just bravery. It's sacrifice."
In the same post, Alia Bhatt remembered the mother of the men and women on the border. She acknowledged the uncertainties and tension the mothers of the soldiers must feel. She added that on Mother's Day, she couldn't help but think of the mothers who raised heroes who carried the national flag with pride.
Alia Bhatt also mourned the lives that were lost during the heated exchange. She paid her respect to those who would never come home and shared how their names were now etched in the soul of the country. She sent her love to the parents who lost their loved ones and stated:

"We mourn the lives that have been lost, soldiers who will never come home, whose names are now etched in the soul of this country. May their families find strength in the nation's gratitude. So tonight, and every night forward, we hope for less silence born of tension, and more silence born of peace. And send love to every parent out there holding prayers, holding back tears. Because your strength moves this nation more than you'll ever know. We stand together. For our protectors. For India. Jai Hind."
While Alia Bhatt's post was meant to be a heartfelt gesture to the lives that were lost, it irked some of the netizens. A user penned, "Great work by the PR team. Image building for Cannes. Groundbreaking move." Another said, "And now the Indian celebrities are playing it safe and writing diplomatically about the whole situation after questions being raised by Indian Janta asking why no celebrity spoke up when it was time to speak up for fear of losing millions of Pakistani followers, eh?" Nonetheless, others stood in support of Alia and penned, "To people saying she didn’t post: Alia Bhatt posted for the Indian armed forces on 7th May itself, and for that post, she was called a Zionist by pak fans and also dragged online just for standing by her nation. Alia had even posted about the Pahalgam attack. She has always been vocal. so do not point the gun at her."
