Alia Bhatt was merely 11 years old when she had first met Ranbir Kapoor at Sanjay Leela Bhansali's office. None of them would have thought of falling head-over-heels in love with one another. Ever since Alia had shared her wish to marry Ranbir, destiny had played Cupid for them. It was while shooting for Ayan Mukerji's Brahmastra that love had blossomed between Alia and Ranbir.
Ever since they had made their relationship official, their fans have been eagerly waiting for their wedding. For the past few days, there have been various rumours surrounding Ranbir and Alia's wedding, however, all the speculations had turned into reality on April 13, 2022, when guests had started pouring at Ranbir's home, Vaastu for the pre-wedding festivities.

Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhatt are soon going to be pronounced husband and wife, and moments before their wedding, guests have started pouring in. Alia's mother, Soni Razdan and her sister, Shaheen Bhatt were spotted entering Vastu. Director, Luv Ranjan and late Shammi Kapoor's wife, Neila Devi along with her daughter, Kanchan Desai and son-in-law, Ketan Desai were also arriving at the venue. Take a look:

A report in ETimes had revealed that Ranbir and Alia will be getting married as per Punjabi rituals, and Ranbir's baraat will be taken to the ladkiwalas' place. A source close to the couple had revealed:
"As per the tradition, the Kapoor family members will take a baraat procession between the Krishna Raj Bungalow and Vastu House. The entire stretch of road between the two locations at Pali Hill has been beautifully decked up with lights hanging from the trees and it looks no less than a big festival in the evening. Moreover, the police have been deployed to block the stretch for about 15-20 minutes tomorrow to ensure the baraat goes smoothly."
Ranbir and Alia had first met officially during the prep of a film, which never got made. In an interview with Bollywood Bubble, Alia had recalled the first meeting and had stated that Sanjay Leela Bhansali had wanted to make a film with her titled Balika Vadhu and she was called for the prep photoshoot.

She had further recalled that Ranbir too was there as he was assisting Sanjay Leela Bhansali. During one of the shots, Sanjay had asked her to put her head on Ranbir's shoulder and a picture of the same was taken. Alia had said that she had felt very shy and still has the picture with her.
