It was on September 29, 2018, when Rishi Kapoor had tweeted about his diagnosis. In 2020, he had left for the heavenly abode after fighting a long battle with leukaemia. Even after Rishi Kapoor’s death, his loved ones have kept him in their hearts.
Today, i.e., On April 30, 2022 marks the second death anniversary of Rishi Kapoor and his daughter Riddhima Kapoor Sahni remembered him. She had taken to her IG handle and had posted a throwback picture of him, carrying little Riddhima in his arms. She captioned the picture as, "Papa", followed by a heart emoticon.

And now, the new bahu of the Kapoor clan, Alia Bhatt took to her IG handle and posted a throwback monochrome picture of her late father-in-law, Rishi Kapoor. The picture was taken when Alia had visited Rishi Kapoor in the US, where he was undergoing treatment for leukaemia. Atop the picture, Alia wrote:
"Always and forever."
Alia Bhatt had stood like a pillar of strength for the Kapoor family throughout Rishi Kapoor's treatment. After his death, Alia had penned a eulogy for him and described her experience of knowing him. Alia had shared a note for the great soul, and it could be read as:
"What can I say, about this beautiful man, who brought so much love and goodness into my life. Today, everyone speaks of the legend that is Rishi Kapoor and thought I've known him like that all my life. For the past two years, I have known him as a friend, a fellow Chinese food lover, a total cinema lover, a fighter, a leader, a beautiful storyteller, an extremely passionate tweet and a father! "

Talking about the love she had received from him and how he had made her feel like a part of his family, Alia had continued:
"In these past two years, the love I have received from him is like a warm hug that I will always cherish! I thank the universe for giving me this opportunity to know him. Today, probably most of you can say he is like family - because that's how he made you feel! Love you, Rishi uncle! Will miss you forever! Thank you, for being you!"
