Alia Bhatt is a Gen-Z mother, who has been raising her daughter, Raha in the most wholesome manner. Being a top-of-the-league star herself, the diva has carefully balanced out both her personal life and professional world distinctly, shedding impeccable parenting goals out there. For the unversed, Alia and Ranbir introduced their daughter, Raha to the media back on Christmas 2023. Ever since, the doting mom has been quite vocal about revealing candid anecdotes about her little one.
In a candid conversation with the Hindustan Times, Alia Bhatt opened up on several reflections from her motherhood journey. The actress, who is a mother to her one year old daughter, Raha talked about the aspect of leaving behind a legacy for her little one. Talking about her role both as an actress and a mother, Alia specified that she hasn’t ever strictly calculated to leave a legacy for the same. However, Alia added that while she mostly makes instinctive choices in both her roles, there are times when she goes quite random in her decision making. In her words:
“When it comes to the legacy that I envisioned as an actor and a mother, I don't think it has been calculated from my side. The choices I make as a mother are also very instinctive to what I feel is best for my child. I am very meticulous, but I can also be very random. So I'm kind of a mix of both”.

Moving forth in the conversation, Alia was asked about her baby girl, Raha’s natural personality, and if she, as a mother, would ever try to shape it in a certain way. To this, the actress emphasized how every child is born with a distinct personality, and her daughter is nothing different. However, at the same time, she would never want Raha to reflect a personality, which she herself isn’t very comfortable with. Alia mentioned:
“I do believe children are born with their own personality. You just have to nurture and care for them and let them find their own feet. Let them be their own person. I don't think I want her (Raha) to ever be any version of herself that she doesn't feel most comfortable with.”
Towards the end of the conversation, Alia was asked about what aspects and principles she keeps in mind, when it comes to selecting roles and films. Being one of the leading divas of her times, she has been one such star who has maintained a range of versatility throughout her career. Alia explained that she chooses characters based on how much they match with her own value system in life. Furthermore, her characters must always remain natural even with flawed emotions. Most importantly, Alia added that her film choices are based on her instinct and not calculative.
