Alia Bhatt Claims She Was Compared To Amitabh Bachchan In 'Gangubai Kathiawadi', Redditors React

Alia Bhatt has been riding high on the professional front, as she is one of the most sought-after actresses of her generation. After making her Hollywood debut with Heart Of Stone in 2023, the actress was felicitated with the National Award for her performance in Gangubai Kathiawadi. Alia left everyone in awe of her power-packed performance in the film and proved her mettle in acting with the portrayal of an unconventional role.

Alia Bhatt claims people compared her to Amitabh Bachchan in Gangubai Kathiawadi

Recently, we stumbled upon a video of Alia Bhatt from her interview with journalist, Anupama Chopra, wherein the actress talked about the success of her film, Gangubai Kathiawadi. She was accompanied by Vijay Varma, Shefali Shah and another lady from the film fraternity. In the video, Alia was heard saying:

"Arey people called me Amitabh Bachchan in Gangubai. I mean they said 4 feet ki Amitabh, but that's a funny thing. But still..."

Vijay Varma looks shocked at Alia Bhatt's exaggerated claims

The audience cheered as Alia made the revelation, and the other guests praised her. However, as the camera panned towards Vijay Varma, he looked quite shocked. The expression on his face showed that he was convinced that Alia was making exaggerated claims. For the unversed, Alia Bhatt and Vijay Varma have worked together in the film, Darlings, which was released on Netflix in 2023.

One user wrote, "The look of disbelief on Vijay Varma is saying everything." Another penned,  "This is so embarrassing I am feeling second hand embarrassment for her."

Back in 2023, Alia Bhatt won the National Award for Best Actress for her role in the film, Gangubai Kathiawadi.
