The South Indian superstar, Allu Arjun is one of the biggest actors in India. With the success of his film, Pushpa: The Rise, Allu Arjun cemented his status as one of the few actors, who are loved pan India. His acting skills need no introduction as he has been a part of the film industry for more than 20 years. From giving back-to-back hits to breaking records with the release of Pushpa 2: The Rule’s teaser, Allu Arjun is undoubtedly giving all the actors from Hindi to South Indian cinema a run for their money.
On December 17, 2021, Pushpa: The Rise was released in theatres and went on to become one of the biggest hits of all time in Telugu cinema. Allu Arjun’s film collected more than Rs. 320 crores and also opened the gates for other South Indian films too. After a lot of waiting, on April 8, 2023, the teaser of Pushpa 2: The Rule was released, and within minutes it broke all the trending charts on social media. The filmmakers presented the trailer on the icon star’s 41st birthday, leaving everyone bonkers.

The South Indian superstar, Allu Arjun is one of the most bankable actors in India, but not everyone is aware of the fact that becoming an actor wasn’t his life’s first motive. Despite being in a film family, Allu Arjun wasn’t fascinated by cinema when he was young and was more interested in animation. Once in an interview with Filmfare, Allu Arjun opened up about his professional journey as an actor and admitted that becoming an actor wasn’t his first dream. Instead, the icon star revealed that he wanted to become an animator as a child.
Further, in the interview, when Allu Arjun was asked why he didn’t pursue his passion for animation. The actor revealed that with time he lost interest in it. Later in life, he started developing an interest in acting and hence, decided to become an actor to follow in the footsteps of his father, Allu Aravind and other family members. In his words:
"Initially, I wanted to be an animator. But soon my interest fizzled out.. When you’re born in a film family, you’re influenced by the environment. Wherever you go, you’re bound to return to films. This place has some kind of gravity."

For the unversed, Allu Arjun’s grandfather was the late iconic star, Allu Ramalingaiah. The famous brother trio in South Indian cinema, Chiranjeevi Konidela, Pawan Kalyan, and Nagendra Babu, are Allu Arjun’s uncles. Allu Arjun is also Ram Charan and Varun Tej’s cousin, and the list of Pushpa actor’s relatives in the film industry goes on.
Allu Arjun has been a part of the film industry for more than two decades. During his time in the industry, he had given so many hit films, but certain movies made him the star he is today. Some of Allu Arjun’s highest-rated films on IMDb are Vedam (8.1), Arya (7.8), Pushpa: The Rise (7.6), Arya 2 (7.4), Ala Vaikunthapurramuloo (7.3), Julayi (7.2), and Race Gurram (7.1).
We are glad that Allu Arjun fell in love with acting and cinema. Otherwise, the Indian film industry would have lost an exceptionally-talented actor.
