Zoya Akhtar's much-anticipated movie, The Archies, was released on Netflix on December 7, 2023. It starred Shah Rukh Khan's daughter, Suhana Khan, Amitabh Bachchan's grandson, Agastya Nanda, late Sridevi's daughter, Khushi Kapoor, and a few others. Although Agastya played the lead character in the film, his co-star, Vedang Raina, received immense love for his performance. Moreover, we have seen eminent actor, Aly Khan playing the role of Suhana's onscreen character, 'Veronica's' father. Now, we stumbled upon an old interview of Aly, wherein he can be seen talking about the debutant cast of the film and their performance.
Recently, a Reddit user shared a video from one of Aly Khan's interviews. In the video, Aly was heard talking about being part of the then-ongoing project, The Archies, and how he felt while working with the star kids. He was heard revealing the names of the cast, including Agastya Nanda, Suhana Khan, Khushi Kapoor and many more. Afterwards, Aly also shared how the film's director, Zoya Akhtar did a one-year workshop with the kids before finally starting the shoot. Aly Khn said:
"Jo main project karke aa raha hu, wo ek launch project hai, star ke bachcho ko lekar. Usmein Amitabh Bachchan ke jo grandson hai Shweta ke bete wo lead hai, usmein Shah Rukh ki beti lead hai, usmein Sridevi ki beti hai. Star kids hai sarein. Zoya ne inko ek saal workshop karaya hai camera ke samne laane se pehele, samaj rahe hai nah aap, ek saal."

Further, Then, Aly clearly mentioned what all happened in the workshop conducted by Zoya along with the entire cast of the film. Aly revealed how the kids were left with choreographers, fight masters, dialogue coaches, and others so that they could learn the different parts of their film, beautifully. Despite such long-time practice, Aly mentioned that it would be very shameless if the celebrity kids couldn't perform well. Aly Khan continued:
"Toh aap ek saal t-shirt aur shorts mein without any pressure, no press, no publicity, no cameras, sirf choreographer ke saath, sirf fight master ke saath, sirf dialogue coach ke saath. Toh jab ek saal ki mehenat ke baad aap camera ke samne ayenge agar aap razor blaze ki tarah sharp nhi honge toh phir toh lanat hai aap par."
As soon as the video surfaced on the discussion platform, netizens started reacting to Aly's take on The Archies' debutant cast's performance in the film. While one netizen wrote, "1 year for what ? Lip syncing and half assed dancing? Bollywood is probably the only industry in which actors still lip sync to songs even in musical genre movies lol", another wrote, "Hats off to brillant actor Aly Khan for tolerating these talentless nepos while Archies filming. Since the launch of The Archies, the filmmakers and debutants have received huge flak from the audiences. For instance, a while back, a Reddit user shared a clip from one of the scenes of Suhana Khan's debut film, The Archies. In the video, Suhana and Agastya were seen having a date night. However, Suhana's expressions and poor dialogue delivery irked the audience, and they slammed her for lacking the qualities to be an actress. Many netizens also pointed out that Suhana has failed to impress the audience with her acting debut and could not match the legacy of her father, Shah Rukh Khan.
