Amaal Malik On Massive Fight With Mom Before Cutting Ties With Family, 'Maine Kaha Surname Badal Lo'

A few months ago, Amaal Malik took to his social media handle and announced that he was cutting ties with his family members. While he has deleted the post instantly, the fire was fanned. Time and again, Daboo Malik shared that he and his wife actually failed as parents, and Amaal made the decision from a place of hurt. He also revealed spending time with his son to understand what went wrong and to be by his side. Now, Amaal has arrived on Salman Khan's show, Bigg Boss 19. The singer believes his viral post was the reason he was invited to the show. He also revealed what actually happened that led him to announce cut ties with family on social media.

Amaal Malik reveals why he decided to cut ties with his family and announce it on social media?

While speaking to Zeishan on Bigg Boss 19, Amaal Malik shared that his post had gone viral on social media, in which he announced cutting ties with family, and he feels that maybe for that reason he was called on the controversial show.

Amaal went on to add that he was going through depression and was dealing with an identity crisis, as he used to make songs, but no one would ever sit with him to ask. He also mentioned that his brother, Armaan, never made him feel like he was the star, and he had no bad feelings towards his younger brother, considering him as his own kid. Amaal could be quoted as saying:

"Maine ek post daali thi, internet pe bahut viral ho gaya tha. Main depression mein tha. Maine apne family se ties cut off kar diye the. Shayad issliye inhone yahan bula liya (laughs). Bahut news ho gaye the. Ek identity crisis mehsoos hone lag gaye the. Gaane sab main bana raha tha but koi mujhe poochta nahi tha. Apna chota (Armaan Mallik) toh apne bete jaisa hai, uss se koi aisa feeling nahi hai. Mujhe Armaan ne yeh feel bhi nahi karvaya ke ‘main star hu, tu nahi hai.'"

Amaal Malik recalls his huge fight with his mom before cutting ties with his family

In the same interview, Amaal Malik revealed that the day he posted on social media, he had a massive fight with his mom. Amaal further said that he was so hurt that it pushed him over the edge, and he ended up posting that on social media, which went massively viral. He mentioned that if he were to post anything, people would come to his dad and say that he was taking a challenge to Armaan indirectly, while others would question his mother's upbringing.

Amaal claimed that he was hurt and asked them to change their surname or suggested that he should do the same. Amaal went on to reveal that family also should understand, and shared that back then he was going through a tough phase with his breakup and his dog's passing. Amaal shared:

"Mummy se uss din argument ho gaye thi bahut badi. Toh maine daal diya ke mera koi relation nahi hai. Main jo bolta hu mere shabd hai. Mere tweet ya mere kuch kehne se papa ko koi bol raha hai, Armaan se panga le raha hai, mummy ki upbringing pe sawaal uth rahe hai. Maine bola aap teeno apne surname badal lo ya main badal leta hu. Voh tsunami phata kabhi. Family ko bhi kabhi kabhi samajhna padta hai. Mera doggy passed away, ek serious breakup hua tha – trigger mein turmoil voh ball ban kar internet par aa gaya."

Amaal Malik was asked to earn at the age of 15

In an interview with Faridoon Shahryar, Amaal Malik's father, Daboo said that his son's post, in a way, opened his eyes. He also accepted that he and his wife were at fault and failed as parents. In the same interview, Daboo revealed that Amaal was only 15 years old when he saw his dad hugging him and asking him to save the family with financial support. Daboo stated that while Amaal reassured him that he would do something and earn, he was actually too small to understand the gravity of the situation.
