Ameesha Patel, who is currently basking in the success of her recently released film, Gadar 2, has garnered immense love and praise from her fans. Apart from her acting spree, she is known for her love for everything luxurious and stunning. Ameesha is known to be a popular fashionista, who never fails to impress us with her love for style. Now, the actress opened up about her passion for bags and revealed that she has been collecting them since the age of 12.
In a recent interview with Bollywood Hungama, Ameesha Patel shared a sneak peek into her luxurious bag collection, which is every bit classy. The actress confessed that the most expensive bag in her collection is her Hermes Birkin and shared that one could buy a house in its place. Talking about the ‘Rolls Royce’ of her bags, Ameesha Patel said:
“If you tell me which bag I would like to call the ‘Rolls Royce’ of bags, then it's the Birkin by Hermes. It's the most sought-after, and difficult bag to get. You can be on a waiting list for five to ten years and not even get it after that. But I didn’t have to wait very long. I was fortunate.”

Further talking about her collection of Birkin bags, Ameesha shared that the price of her Birkin bag is almost Rs. 60 to 70 lakhs and added that it is cheaper than the bags that celebrities like Rihanna and Victoria Beckham own. She also spoke about how people wait for years to get a luxury bag customised for themselves and added:
“The one I have is a croc Birkin. The exotic skin is the most valuable like you can buy a house in place of this bag. That's how you know the price wise and difficulty wise it is. This bag is the most expensive. it's a Birkin and a crock, so the price is now about Rs. 60 to 70 lakhs. The ones that Victoria Beckham and Rihanna and all have diamonds which go into millions, so this is actually very cheap compared to the bags they have but this is the most expensive bag I would have in my collection.”
Ameesha further went on to reveal that she has a total of 16 Birkin bags in her collection as she is a complete Birkin girl. She also opened up about how it is a challenge to own a Birkin bag and added:
“Birkin on its own is very difficult to get but when it comes in exotic skin which is ostrich, lizard, snake, or crocodile skin, it's very very hard to get. It's very difficult to get a Birkin. You can be whoever, whatever but to get a Birkin is hard. I think I have about 16 Birkin in all shapes, sizes, colors, collected over the years; some passed down from family like heirlooms.”

Showing off her bag collection, Ameesha shared that she has many more bags that she did not include in the video. Furthermore, she shared that she got her first luxury bag when she was 12-13 years old. However, the shocking fact was that it was a school bag from the brand, Moschino-Louis Vuitton. Ameesha also revealed that she got her first Chanel bag as a birthday present at the age of 16.
Being an ardent bag collector, the actress revealed that she only buys limited edition bags that are unique to her. Speaking along the same lines, the actress shared that she keeps her bags like her babies and cherishes them. Ameesha also mentioned that it is almost impossible to get these bags now as they have all been out for a particular season only. She concluded:
“I keep them like babies like you would keep your child. All of them are cherished because if you can see none of them are run of the mill. You know all of them are limited edition. They're not the ones that you would typically find mass produced. Even within the brand itself. And they have all been out for a particular season, are hard to get and then you don't get them anymore.”
