Ameesha Patel has been soaring high on the professional front. The actress has been hitting all the headlines for her commendable performance in the film, Gadar 2. For the unversed, the diva made her acting debut with the film, Kaho Naa... Pyaar Hai in 2000. Later, she went on to work in super hit films like Gadar: Ek Prem Katha, Bhool Bhulaiyaa, Humraaz, Aap Mujhe Achche Lagne Lage and many more. Off lately, the actress has been revealing some lesser-known anecdotes about her life. And yet again, she revealed how Sanjay Dutt wanted her to get married.
In an interview with Siddharth Kannan, Ameesha Patel opened up about her co-actors. When asked about Sanjay Dutt, the actress mentioned that he is her family. Mentioning how Sanjay feels she is too simple for the film industry, Ameesha revealed that he has been looking for a suitable match for her for 20 years. Elaborating more about it, Ameesha said:

"Sanju is my family. He also says, 'Ameesha you are too good for this industry, mein nikal de raha hu tujhe. You are too simple, you are too naive, tu chal mein shaadi karvata hu tere'. He is always trying to hook me up from the beginning. Since 20 years, he has been trying to find me a correct match."

In the same conversation, Ameesha stated that Sanjay often calls her kid and listening to his wise words about her, many men have proposed to her. The actress added that Sanjay Dutt has told her that he will perform her 'Kanyadan' when she gets married. In her words:
"He always says, 'Ye bachchi hai, give her toys. This is the way to her heart'. He tells this to everyone to impress me. Couple of guys have come to me after listening to Sanjay and I have rejected them and Sanju always says, 'Jab teri shaadi hogi na kanyadan mein karuga and I will be very happy when you get married. Your kids will play with my kids.' He is like one of those guys."
Ameesha Patel's love life has not been a bed of roses. For the unversed, she was in a relationship with filmmaker, Vikram Bhatt for 5 years before they parted ways. Later, she started dating a London-based businessman, Kanav Puri, however, they broke up in 2010. Talking about her previous relationships, Ameesha, in an interview had said that it was the biggest drawback of her life. Mentioning how her love life impacted her career, Ameesha said:
"In this industry, if you're honest, honesty is not welcomed. And I'm too honest because for me life is black and white and you get what you see with me. I think that has been the biggest drawback for me in my life. And definitely, the only two relationships that I ever had in public, they did take a beating on my career. And for 12-13 years, I was like, 'No men. Only peace. I want nothing else in my life."

Ever since Ameesha made her comeback, she has been sharing some lesser-known anecdotes about her life. For instance, earlier, in an interview with Bollywood Hungama, she recalled being labelled as too educated to be able to work in films. Elaborating more on it, Ameesha mentioned that she was often asked whether her education made her an unusual fit for performing arts.
