Anil Sharma's directorial film, Gadar 2, is all set to hit the silver screens on August 11, 2023. For the unversed, the movie is the sequel to the 2001 film, Gadar: Ek Prem Katha, which was directed by the same director. Gadar 2 will be portraying the return of 'Tara Singh' and 'Sakina', i.e., Sunny Deol and Ameesha Patel. The movie will also be starring the Soni actress, Simrat Kaur Randhawa. Although there were a lot of controversies related to Simrat playing a role in Gadar 2, there is no denying the fact that the audience is excited about this film. Amid all these, several reports suggested that Ameesha will not join the trailer launch event of the movie.
There have been a lot of rumours that the iconic actress, Ameesha Patel will skip the trailer launch event of the most-anticipated movie, Gadar 2. Talking about the reason behind the same, a report from Bollywood Hungama suggested that the actress has taken such a decision to avoid potentially "embarrassing questions" from the media. Some other reports suggested that Ameesha is to quit the event to show solidarity with her co-star, Simrat to avoid uncomfortable situations.

For the unversed, Simrat Kaur Randhawa is a popular actress who also worked in the South Indian film industry. Gadar 2 will mark the actress's debut in Bollywood. She also worked in a movie named Soni. Apart from that, the actress once acted in a bold movie, Dirty Hari. The movie is considered to be one of the most erotic movies that has been made in South Indian cinema. However, as Gadar 2 already created a lot of excitement among the fans, choosing an actress who has done erotic and sensual scenes in the past irked the netizens and created a major dispute. Netizens started questioning Anil Sharma's decision to cast the actress in a movie like Gadar 2.
Several photos and scenes from the movie, Dirty Hari, featuring Simrat Kaur and her co-star, Shravan Reddy, went viral online, and netizens started bashing the actress and the director. However, it was Ameesha Patel who swooped in and showed her support. Reacting to one such nasty post by the netizens, Ameesha wrote:
"Spent the entire evening 2day defending the negativity surrounding Simrat Kaur who is paired opp Utkarsh Sharma in Gadar 2!!! Being a girl I request all to only spread positivity and not a shame a girl! Let's encourage new talent!!"
As per several reports, Ameesha Patel strongly believes that Simrat is being targeted unfairly and that the bold pictures and clips that have been doing rounds on social media are intended to harm her reputation.

Reports also claimed that as a lot of chattering has been going on about Simrat playing a role in Gadar 2, the producers of the movie have decided to bring the actress in only one shot in the trailer. The producers reportedly decided that it's best to keep the actress out of the limelight until all the buzz clears.
