But there have been various instances when fans got a glimpse of his equation with his family members, including his wife, Jaya Bachchan, son, Abhishek Bachchan, and his granddaughter, Aaradhya. In fact, years ago, in 2010, he slammed a tabloid for spreading false news about his daughter-in-law, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan’s health. Now, Big B has wished Aaradhya on her 14th birthday.

For the unversed, Amitabh Bachchan maintains a blog and has a Tumblr account, where he shares his unfiltered thoughts. On November 16, 2025, he took to his Tumblr account and shared a heartfelt blog post. As his granddaughter, Aaradhya, turned a year older, Big B took to the opportunity to wish her with a heartwarming birthday wish. An excerpt from the blog can be read as:

"Blessings on the eve of the little one, Aaradhya. The child in us all grows with time and we wish them the mostest. We pray the same and today be the dawn of the loved one's birth. All blessings."

The birthday note also carried a sense of melancholy for the recent losses in the industry. Without naming anyone in particular, Amitabh Bachchan expressed his grief. He ended the note with a positive remark, "The show goes on." The note can be read as:

"In all the days passed the sadness of loss has been of immense grief, but life moves on, as it must and as it has been through life and time. Our prayers continue. We live, we perceive, we persist, persevere and continue to continue the odds of life. This be our reckoning and belief and the show goes on."

On October 11, 2025, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan took to her Instagram handle and shared an unseen picture featuring her daughter, Aaradhya and her father-in-law, Amitabh Bachchan. The picture seemed like a throwback snap from when Aaradhya was a toddler. She had a cheerful smile as she stood close to her grandpa. The birthday note shared by Aishwarya on Amitabh’s 83rd birthday can be read as, "Happy Birthday, dearest Pa-Dadajiii. Love and God bless always."

Earlier in an episode of KBC, Amitabh Bachchan confessed that he gets little time to spend with his granddaughter, Aaradhya. He shared that due to work commitments, he cannot play with Aaradhya. He mentioned that often time clashes between the two, but on Sundays they have fun. He highlighted that Aaradhya has grown up and loves to play mature games, like antakshari. He then added that they also play computer games like tennis and football. He was quoted as saying:

"The profession I am in, I have to leave my house very early for work when she’s in school, and when I pack up and return, she’s sleeping. There’s very little time that we get together, but on Sundays we come together and have loads of fun. She’s a grown-up kid and plays mature games, ek game hota hai na aapne joh bola uska last word se aap ko bolna padta hai (word antakshari or the game of the ending letter), then we play games on computer like tennis, football."
