On July 11, 2020, everyone was left in shock when the news of Bollywood actor, Amitabh Bachchan tested positive of coronavirus came out. The actor had confirmed the news on his Instagram handle and posted a picture of himself, and had captioned it as "This evening I tested positive for COVID 19 .. have been shifted to Hospital .. authorities informed .. family and staff tested results awaited .. all those that came in close proximity to me in the last 10 days please get yourself tested."
Now, another heartbreaking news came from the Bachchan household as Aishwarya Rai Bachchan and Aaradhya Bachchan is also tested COVID-19 positive. Health Minister Rajesh Tope confirmed the same on his Twitter handle. His tweet can be read as "Smt.Aishwarya Rai Bacchan and Daughter Aaradhya Abhishek Bacchan have also been detected positive for Covid19. Smt. Jaya Bachhan ji is tested negative for covid19. We wish the Bacchan Family to get well soon with a speedy recovery."
On July 12, 2020, Abhishek took to his Instagram handle and posted a picture of herself. Along with it, he wrote, "Yesterday, both my father and I tested positive for COVID-19. Both of us having mild symptoms have been admitted to hospital. We have informed all the required authorities and our family and staff are all being tested. The BMC has been in touch and we are complying with them. I request all to stay calm and not panic. Thank you."
Amitabh ji is admitted to Nanavati Hospital in Mumbai. According to sources at the hospital, he was experiencing breathlessness, and he was taken to the hospital on Saturday. However, ina report as per the Hindustan Times, a doctor had said, "He is stable with minor breathlessness but considering his age and previous illnesses including tuberculosis, his condition might deteriorate."
