End of an era! The He Man of Bollywood finally bid adieu to the world at the age of 89. There had been several rumours about his death in the media, but when Dharmendra was discharged from the hospital, his fans were relieved. But reports had then stated that his condition was critical. However, weeks before his 90th birthday, the veteran actor passed away, leaving his family and friends in grief.
Glimpses from his last rites and cremation surfaced on social media. Amitabh Bachchan, along with Abhishek and Agastya, arrives at the Pawan Hans crematorium in Mumbai for the veteran’s final rites. Amitabh looked emotional as he bid his final goodbye to ‘Veeru’. Aamir Khan was also seen rushing to the crematorium for Dharmendra’s last rites. The actor was seen wiping his tears as he looked disheartened. Salman Khan too paid a visit to the legend's last rites.


Moments after the news of Dharmendra’s death surfaced, filmmaker, Karan Johar took to social media and penned his emotions for the departed soul. Karan revealed that, with Dharam ji’s passing, the industry has lost a gem and that the space can never be filled. Calling the veteran actor a bonafide Legend of Indian Cinema, Karan penned:
“It is an end of an ERA….. a massive mega star… the embodiment of a HERO in mainstream cinema… incredibly handsome and the most enigmatic screen presence … he is and will always be a bonafide Legend of Indian Cinema… defining and richly present in the pages of cinema history … but mostly he was the best human being. Today there is a gaping hole in our industry … a space that can never be filled by anyone … there will always be the one and only DHARAMJI… we love you kind Sir.”

The wee hours of November 11, 2025, flashed fake headlines of veteran Bollywood actor, Dharmendra’s death, which were dismissed by Hema Malini and Esha Deol. After the veteran actor got discharged from the hospital, Hema shared an update about him and called it a challenging phase. In her words:

“It has not been an easy time for me. Dharamji's health is a matter of great concern for us. His children are sleepless. I can't afford to be weak, too many responsibilities. But yes, I am happy he's back home. We are relieved he is out of hospital. He needs to be among the people he loves. Baaki toh sab upar wale ke haath mein hai. Please pray for us.”
