Amitabh Bachchan To Retire Soon? Big B Breaks Silence Over His Cryptic Note On, 'Time To Go'

Amitabh Bachchan is one of the biggest actors ever to grace the big screen. He began his career in the 70s as 'Angry Young Man' and has worked in the entertainment industry for over five decades. He is one of the few actors who have managed to stay on top by adapting to the changing trends in the film industry. Despite reaching 82, he continues to wow audiences by playing versatile roles on-screen without any signs of slowing down. However, his recent post on X made the fans doubt whether the megastar changed his mind. 

Amitabh Bachchan hints at his retirement? 

Amitabh Bachchan has not only adapted to the changing world in terms of films but also with the advancement of technology. He actively uses social media apps and blogs, often sharing candid and cryptic posts. Recently, Big B took to his X handle and shared a new post. However, its short and cryptic meaning left the fans curious whether the megastar plans to quit his acting career for retirement. His post read: 

"Time to go."

Since the Pink actor offered no context or explanation regarding his post, no one could understand its exact meaning. Consequently, in a recent episode of his iconic quiz show, Kaun Banega Crorepati 16, Big B asked the audience if they wanted to ask any questions. Taking the opportunity, one fan from the audience section inquired about the meaning behind that cryptic post. The question left Amitabh Bachchan confused as he couldn't understand what was wrong with it. Another fan helped him understand by asking where he wanted to go. Clarifying his reply, the megastar said: 

"Arre bhai sahab, humko kaam par jaane ka samay aagaya hai… gajab baat karte ho yaar! Aur raat ko jab 2 baje yahan se chhutti milti hai, toh ghar pahuchte-pahuchte 1-2 baj jaate hain. Woh likhte-likhte humko neend aa gayi, toh woh wahin tak reh gaya… Jaane ka waqt aur hum so gaye!"

Amitabh Bachchan opens up about people questioning him about working despite his advanced age 

Amitabh Bachchan previously shared a blog where he revealed that many people keep asking him why he continues to working. In his reply, the Kalki 2898 AD actor explained that he has no specific reason to explain on why he continues to work. It's just another opportunity to work for him, and he takes it. He added that people might have different opinions about his decision to work. However, they can't understand his perspective until they experience his situation. Big B penned: 

"They keep asking me about the set of work and the reason for me to be working, and I have no answers to this, except it's another job opportunity for me. What else could possibly be the reason? Others have their own assessment of occasions and conditions and often like to exercise their model to be prime; wear my shoes and find out. Maybe you are right and maybe not; you have the liberty to have your conclusions, and I have the liberty of my work."  

Amitabh Bachchan's work front 

On the work front, Amitabh Bachchan was seen on the big screen in, Vettaiyan, where he reunited with Rajnikanth on the big screen after 33 years. He is hosting the 16th season of his quiz show, Kaun Banega Crorepati and will be next seen in, Kalki 2898 AD part 2, co-starring Dipika Padukone and Prabhas. The actor will also reportedly be a part of Nitesh Tiwari's, Ramayana Part 1 alongside, Ranbir Kapoor and Sai Pallavi.
