Amitabh Bachchan is one of the most successful actors in Bollywood, and his legacy is unbeatable. Big B has been working hard even in his 80s and inspiring the younger generation. The superstar enjoys a massive fanbase, who worships him. Amitabh also hosts the quiz reality show, Kaun Banega Crorepati, and he has been irreplaceable in his job. The actor returned for the show's latest season as well, and the episodes have been jam-packed with hilarious and sometimes heartwarming revelations. Recently, KBC celebrated its 25th year with Amitabh.
The special episode marking the Kaun Banega Crorepati's silver jubilee began with celebs like Kajol, Abhishek Bachchan, and AR Rahman, among others pouring out their heartfelt wishes. After 25 long years, Amitabh Bachchan, finally opened up about how the idea of him hosting the show was conceived. The actor admitted that he was initially left puzzled by the format of the show and how it would work. So, to make things easier for him, the team flew him out to LC, London, where the game was being played.
Amitabh was amazed by the enthusiasm and spirit with which the show was being conducted, so much so that he agreed to host it on one condition — that the makers would recreate the same energy in India. However, his family wasn't so keen on him doing the show. Amitabh said:
"When I told my family members that I was going to host KBC, I won’t name anyone, but some of them said, 'You are making a big mistake. People see you on the big screen, and now they'll see you on the small screen?' I didn't listen to them and went ahead. And here I am, sitting in this chair for the past 25 years."
Recently, Amitabh Bachchan, who is known for his down-to-earth personality, was overcome with emotions on his quiz-based reality show, Kaun Banega Crorepati. For the unversed, the host recently completed 25 years of hosting the show, and in honour of the same, a heartwarming fan video was played for the icon. It left Amitabh emotional as he responded:
"Thank you very much, Deviji. You have said such kind and wonderful things. I have never looked at this show as just work. Every contestant who steps onto this platform, and every audience member present, feels like a guest in my home. Just as we welcome guests with warmth and hospitality at home, I strive to extend the same courtesy here. To me, you all truly feel like family".

Amitabh Bachchan further reflected on how the show itself, Kaun Banega Crorepati, had the power to transform lives in 'a single moment and with just one correct answer.' The actor reflected on how contestants who made it to this stage were filled with countless hopes and dreams. Amitabh added that being a part of the moments where these dreams unfolded filled him with inspiration. Talking about how deeply person contestants journeys were, he said:
"Life brings its share of ups and downs, and when I see contestants performing well, it fills me with immense joy. But when they struggle or lose, it deeply pains me. I have often said that the pain contestants feel is something I experience as well."
Abhishek Bachchan took a moment to acknowledge a father's contribution to his child's life when he appeared on his father's hosted show, Kaun Banega Crorepati. He started by saying that he is unsure whether it is the right thing to say, and he hopes people don't take it otherwise. Abhishek added that his father got out of the house at half-past six in the morning so that he could sleep till 8-9. He further shared that no one talks about what a father does for their kids because they do it quietly. Well, Amitabh was spotted getting teary-eyed over Abhishek's heartfelt words.
