Amitabh Bachchan Mourns The Loss Of 'Kabir Singh' Actress, Kamini Kaushal, 'A Most Sad Moment...'

Millions of fans of veteran actress, Kamini Kaushal were left heartbroken, when they got to know about her unexpected demise. For those who don't know, in recent times, Kamini Kaushal appeared in hit films like Chennai Express, Kabir Singh and Laal Singh Chaddha. While, fans are still mourning the death of the legendary actress, actor, Amitabh Bachchan penned a long and emotional note for Kamini Kaushal. 

Amitabh Bachchan remembers Kamini Kaushal in his latest blog

Recently, Paa actor, Amitabh Bachchan penned a long and emotional note for the veteran actress, Kamini Kaushal. In the blog, he described his immense personal loss and revealed that Kamini shared a beautiful bond with his mother, Teji Bachchan, since the pre-partition days in Punjab. Amitabh also recalled the amazing contributions of Kamini to Indian cinema. He shared:

"... and another loss. A dear family friend of the days of yore. When there was no partition. Kamini Kaushal ji, legendary artist, an icon, who contributed immensely to our industry and who remained, with us till the very last. Her family and Maa ji's families were very dear friends in erstwhile pre partition Punjab."

Amitabh Bachchan continued to explain the bond of Kamini Kaushal with his mother, Teji. He revealed that the two were classmates. He further recalled a heartbreaking incident that took place with Kamini's elder sister, who passed away in a tragic accident. As per the customs of that time, Kamini later married her sister’s widower. In his words:

"Kamini ji's elder sister was a very close friend of Maaji. They were classmates, and a most joyous bunch of like minded friends. The elder sister passed away regretfully in an accident, and as per the tradition of the times, in such an unfortunate situation, the sister of the deceased was married to the bereaved husband, her brother-in-law."

Amitabh Bachchan paid tribute to all late actors

While concluding the blog, Amitabh Bachchan paid a tribute to all the late actors and expressed his sadness over the same. With a heavy heart, he continued to add that the world is now filled with nothing but condolence and prayer. The last part of his blog can be read as:

"A most pleasant, warm, affectionate and talented artist, has left us at the age of 98. An era of great remembrance gone, not just for the film fraternity, but as a member of the friends fraternity. One by one they all are leaving us. A most sad moment, filled only now with condolence and prayer."

Veteran actress, Kamini Kaushal passed away at her Mumbai residence on November 14, 2025, at the age of 98. According to multiple reports, she died due to age-related issues. It is worth mentioning that Kamini was the oldest Bollywood actress. For those who don't know, Kamini has been working since the past seven decades. 

Kamini Kaushal made her debut with the film, Neecha Nagar, which won the top prize at Cannes. Later, she went on to appear in films opposite legendary actors like Dilip Kumar, Dev Anand and Raj Kapoor. Some of her iconic films include Ziddi, Nadiya Ke Par, Do Raaste, Upkar, Prem Nagar, Night Club, Do Bhai, Shaheed and more.
