Amitabh Bachchan Opens Up About The Major Regret Of His Life On 'KBC 17', 'Samay Nahi Mila...'

Amitabh Bachchan is one of the most respected and celebrated actors in Bollywood. He has often received love from fans for his powerful screen presence. Lately, he has been grabbing attention for hosting the popular TV show, Kaun Banega Crorepati. In one of the recent episodes, the legendary actor opened up about one of the major regrets of his life. 

Amitabh Bachchan opens up on spending time with his family

In one of the recent episodes of the quiz show, Kaun Banega Crorepati, the Paa actor, Amitabh Bachchan, recalled the days, where he was busy shooting and his wife, Jaya Bachchan took care of their children, Abhishek and Shweta Bachchan. He mentioned that he regrets that he couldn’t spend enough time with his children, as Amitabh used to shoot day and night. In his words:

"Hamara jo vatavaran tha, bohot sadharan tha. Bacho ki dekh rekh Jaya karegi, hum jayenge kaam pe. Unhone sab kuch dekha hai. Aur ye ek regret raha hai hamare mann mein ki zyada samay nahi biytaye paaye bacho ke saath. Kyuki hum log subah se leke raat tak kaam krte the. Subah nikalte the toh so rhe hote the, wapis aate the tab bhi so rhe hote the. Toh samay nahi mila, isliye Jaya ne sambhala. Kabhi lagta hai ki kaash hum bhi Abhishek ya Shweta ke saath samay bita sakte."

He continued to add that later, it was decided in his house that Amitabh Bachchan will not work on Sunday’s and that day will be dedicated for his family and children. He mentioned that even today, after so many years that rule is still followed in his house as on Sunday, at least for one meal, the entire family will sit together and eat. In his words:

"Phir ye tay hua ki aap sunday ko kaam nahi karenge, aur wo din bacho ke liye tha, khelte the, kudte the, jo bhi tha. Aur aaj bhi wo pratha hamare ghar mein chal rahi hai ki sunday ko ek bhojan jo hai, usme pura Parivar saath baith ke khana khayega."

Amitabh Bachchan is married to actress turned politician, Jaya Bhaduri (now Jaya Bachchan). The couple tied the knot in 1973 and have two children- daughter, Shweta Bachchan Nanda and son, Abhishek Bachchan. Abhishek Bachchan is married to actress, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan and the couple have a daughter, Aaradhya, while Shweta is married to businessman, Nikhil Nanda.

On the work front, Amitabh made his debut with Saat Hindustani, but his breakthrough came with Zanjeer. Over the years, he has given Bollywood some of its iconic films like Deewaar, Sholay, Don, Paa, Piku, Pink, Goodbye, Gulabo Sitabo and more. Most recently, he was seen in the sci-fi film, Kalki 2898 AD. Over the years, he has received Padma awards and the Dadasaheb Phalke Award.
