But this year, the head of the family and superstar, Amitabh Bachchan wasn't able to celebrate it with his family. The actor has been admitted to Nanavati Hospital for liver treatment but despite that, he didn't forget to send across his Karwa Chauth wish for his wife, Jaya Bachchan.

On October 17, 2019, Amitabh ji took to his Twitter handle and posted a candid picture with his wife, Jaya ji. Along with it, he wrote a beautiful wish that can be read as "Khubsurati ka muqabla aaj apne pure shabab par tha, aaj ek chand dusre chand ke intezaar mein tha. Karva Chauth ki shubhkamanayein, unhein jo pran karti hain pati ki jeevan ke liye."

Today, on October 18, 2019, Aishwarya shared a picture from the last night Karwa Chauth celebration on her Instagram handle. In the picture, we can see Jaya ji looking radiant in a pastel blue saree with pink border on it, while Aishwarya wore a yellow ensemble. Check it out below:

Amitabh ji has always valued the love of his wife, Jaya and his post prior to Karwa Chauth is a proof of it. The actor had taken to Twitter and posted a throwback monochrome picture, and along with, he had written, "T 3520 - .. the better half .. !! quite obviously the other half is irrelevant, and therefore unseen."

Amitabh ji, who often pens his thoughts on his blog, had once shared his wedding story with Jaya ji. He had written, "I lived on the 7th Road of this society.. on a rented house.. marriage had been decided among us... nothing to be exaggerated or celebrated with any aplomb.. just the two families and.. done.. off to London, my first trip ever and hers too... Zanjeer a success and a promise that if it did well we would all - a gang of our friends - would go on a holiday to London! Seeking or rather informing parents that we were a group of friends going to England .. who all are going come to the query from Babuji .. names disclosed .. Jaya is also going with you.. you both are alone... yes.. if you have to go marry and go... ok.. pandit and family informed.. next day all set.. flight at night.. marriage to finish before the flight. I dress up in formal marriage Indian, get into my car and want to drive to Malabar Hill where her friends lived and where the ceremony was to be done .. my driver Nagesh, pushes me out and insist he would drive me to the wedding. The substitute for the tradition horse. Off I went, wedding over in a few hours. Done, Mr and Mrs proclaimed. over!" Amitabh Bachchan and Jaya Bachchan

Amitabh ji had tied the knot with Jaya ji on June 3, 1973, and after so many years, their love still remains the same. In a 2015 interview, Amitabh had shared his views on love. He had said, "As busy as we get, we need to be reminded that we – my wife Jaya and I – are still sweethearts. In that sense, it makes me stop and realise how wonderful she makes me feel. Jaya is a very spontaneous person. Not at all like me. And it’s just very fortunate for me that she’s from the same profession as me and so she understands. She was always familiar with the environment I was in. She knows what the film industry is all about, so in fact, it’s a boon to have her."

He had further added, “I don’t know, of course, what the situation would have been had I married a lady outside my profession. You say that marriages in this industry don’t last. But with all due apologies and all due respect to others, how do you put me in the same category? In any marriage, there are ups and downs and areas where disagreements take place but that’s all part of it. Jaya is extremely open and very straight. Sometimes embarrassingly straight but that’s how her nature is. I’ve never tried to disturb that quality of hers and she’s not disturbed my quality of being myself. When I want to be left alone, she leaves me alone." (Don't Miss: Neeti Mohan Wore The Replica Of Anushka Sharma's Delhi Reception Saree On Her First Karwa Chauth)
