Amidst the crazy dance moves, wide grins and hearty laughs, the most emotional moment of the wedding comes when the bride has to bid farewell to her family. Vidaai is the ceremony that strikes a nerve of not just the bride and her family but leaves everyone teary-eyed at the wedding. Some photographers perfectly capture the emotional outburst of the family which defines why vidaai is the most emotional as well as the beautiful moment of the wedding. Back in 1997, that moment was beautifully captured when Shweta Bachchan had left the Bachchan house to live her ‘happily ever after’ with husband, Nikhil Nanda. Shweta Bachchan, daughter of Amitabh Bachchan and Jaya Bachchan, had walked down the aisle with Nikhil Nanda, the Escorts Group businessman, on February 16, 1997. But even after her wedding, Shweta’s special bond with the Bachchan clan is intact and their social media handles prove the same. In fact, time and again, Big B had expressed how Shweta makes him proud, be it launching her own fashion line, MxS World or her novel, Paradise Towers becoming the bestseller in India. Shweta has also been very vocal about the bond she shares with her father and on Koffee With Karan season 6, Abhishek Bachchan had revealed that when Shweta is around, Amitabh Bachchan needs no one else!

A fan of Amitabh Bachchan had posted a throwback picture of the superstar, with his daughter, Shweta Bachchan Nanda from her vidaai in 1997. Mr Bachchan had retweeted the picture and had written, “The most difficult task that a Father has to bear and perform, is when he has to give away his daughter in marriage!” As per a report in Jagran.com, Amitabh Bachchan had taken the imprint of Shweta’s feet on a piece of paper during her vidaai and had framed it. The frame is hanged in his room, assuring him that Shweta is around.
To mark 33 years of AJSK, the designer duo, Abu Jani and Sandeep Khosla had taken us on a trip down the memory lane with some unseen pictures from Shweta Bachchan and Nikhil Nanda’s wedding album. To begin with, Abu Jani and Sandeep Khosla had posted a picture of the bride, Shweta Bachchan, flashing ear-to-ear grin on her mehendi ceremony. Along with the picture, they had written, “1997: The Bride wore White! Shweta Bachchan exudes pristine grace in a spectacular floral veil and ornaments at her mehendi dressed in exquisitely intricate chikankari. For the Bengali wedding of Shweta Bachchan and Nikhil Nanda, Abu Jani and Sandeep Khosla had spoken about their relationship with the family and how special the Bachchan clan is to them. AJSK had penned some heartfelt words, which could be read as “1997: More from the spectacular wedding of Shweta Bachchan and Nikhil Nanda! "Jaya is like our sister and we are like Shweta's mamas. We've known her and Abhishek since they were in their early teens, so doing this wedding went beyond work for us and it will always hold a very special place in our hearts "Nikhil and his family were very close to us and our first interiors project was redecorating their home. In an interview with the Vogue, Shweta Bachchan Nanda had thrown some light on how her relationship changed with her father, Amitabh Bachchan over the years. Speaking about what they discuss and chat over, Shweta had remarked, “We never discussed films with him as children, but now he uses me and Abhishek as sounding boards. We spend a lot more time now, and talking about his life and his journey, I see a more vulnerable side...
