The young Bollywood actor, Priyanshu, was famously known for his role 'Babu Ravi Singh Chhetri' in Amitabh Bachchan's film, Jhund, released in 2022. The 21-year-old actor passed away after being murdered by his friend. According to the news agency, PTI, he was killed while he had a drunken brawl in Nagpur with his friend.
Priyanshu had a fight with his friend who was identified as Dhruv Lal Bahadur Sahu at the wee hours of October 8, 2025. The accused is currently in police custody. A police official revealed that Dhruv and Priyanshu were friends and had been drinking alcohol. The two travelled to an abandoned house in the Jaripatka area in Nagpur, where they had their drinking session. It was revealed that Priyanshu threatened Dhruv during an argrument and then fell asleep. The police said:
"After midnight on Tuesday, Sahu and Chhetri travelled by Sahu's motorcycle to an abandoned house in the Jaripatka area for a drinking session. This occurred a few hours before Chhetri was found injured early Wednesday morning."
In fear, Dhruv allegedly tied Priyanshu with wires and attacked him with a sharp weapon. He left him half-naked and tied with plastic wires. Locals found Priyanshu and rushed him to Mayo Hospital, where doctors declared him dead during treatment. Priyanshu lived in the Lumbini Nagar area of Nagpur. A case of murder has been registered against Dhruv. Police officials also claimed that both of them had criminal backgrounds and assault charges registered against them.
Not only this, in November 2022, Priyanshu was arrested for an alleged theft after a 64-year-old resident of the Mankapur area had filed a complaint against him. He reported that he had stolen their jewellery and cash worth Rs. 5 lakh from his house. Priyanshu was also arrested for stealing the mobile phones of train passengers.
Priyanshu, who received a lot of praise and love for his role in the biographical sports drama Jhund, directed by Nagraj Manjule. The film was based on the life of Vijay Barse, the founder of the NGO Slum Soccer. The story revolved around the retired sports teacher, who decided to form a football team with underprivileged children, and transformed their lives through the game.
