Amitabh Bachchan and Jaya Bachchan’s granddaughter, Navya Naveli Nanda, is an entrepreneur. Born to Shweta Bachchan and Nikhil Nanda, Navya has made a name for herself. She runs a non-profit organisation, Project Naveli, and works with her father, Nikhil in their family business. Besides this, Navya owns a YouTube channel, and in 2022, she also hosted a podcast, What The Hell, Navya!, where she discussed various issues, with her mother and grandmother. Now, in an interview, Navya opened up about some more anecdotes from her life, which are simply unmissable.
Recently, Navya Naveli Nanda appeared on Nikhil Kamath’s podcast and talked about her easy career path, growing years and much more. She mentioned being aware of her privileges, and how she has quite easy career path due to this. However, she also gave a hint at certain hardships which come with the position she has and said:
“I cannot say that I have had a hard time. For me to wake up at 21, when I graduated, and say that ‘I wanna do this’ and be able to do that, is not the reality of a lot of young girls in India. I think I had a big advantage. I had it very, very easy comparatively. There are other pressures that come with it, but I don’t think I am in a position to complain at all.”
Despite Navya's maternal family being heavily involved in the film business, the entrepreneur has repeatedly revealed her wish to keep herself at a distance from the same. Talking about the same, she cleared the popular belief, and contrary to that, mentioned that she didn’t grow up in Mumbai, where her maternal family lives. She continued:
“Unlike what a lot of people assume, I didn’t grow up in Mumbai. I studied in Delhi till I was 12, and I studied in a boarding school in the UK and went to a college in the US for five years. I graduated during Covid-19.”
Afterwards, Navya opened up about how people generally form many preconceptions about her when they first meet because of her family background. Navya said that although she deeply understands how the privileges have benefitted her, it also made her grow into an 'awkward' person. She also talked about the kind of pressure due to the same and shared:
“I am quite an awkward person. I take a lot of time to get comfortable around people. That comes from the fact that I know what people think when I walk into a room. I know what they expect out of me and what kind of perception they have of me, so immediately there’s kind of pressure.”
Well, Navya's honest confessions reveal her true career path. What about you? Let us know!
