In a recent conversation with Filmfare, while talking about Anand’s nature, Sonam revealed that she calls him Gautam Buddha for the sanity he holds. In her words, "I call Anand Gautam Buddha, if he would have not married me, he would have surely gone to a forest and would have become a sadhu (saint). He is a very good person and I am really lucky to marry such a person who is black and white, to an extent where it gets annoying sometimes. He always likes to abide by the rules whether it is standing in the queue at the airport and not using the privileges even after paying for the services, and yes I have to agree to him."

May 8, 2020, marks to be Sonam and Anand’s second anniversary and to make this day special, the actress had posted her ‘first picture together’ with her boyfriend-turned-husband. Sonam had captioned her post as “Our first picture together.. 4 years ago today I met a vegan who could do complicated yoga positions and speak about retail and business with the same ease. I found him unbelievably cool and sexy., he still makes my heart race and grounds me at the same time. Nothing compares to you @anandahuja , your compassion, kindness, generosity and smarts are incredibly attractive but so is your moodiness and your annoying perfectionism.”
Sonam Kapoor Ahuja had also thanked her husband for being by her side for these four years and had concluded her anniversary note with “Thank you for being my partner and standing besides me for these 4 years. They have been my most fulfilling. Happy happy anniversary husband. I’m soo thrilled I get to keep you for the rest of my life. I love you the most and I know you love me the best and the most.
