Online trolling and body-shaming have become a big part of the world of glam and glitz. No such actor is there right now, who hasn't faced backlashing in any moment of their lives. Popular actress, Ananya Panday is one such name in the Bollywood industry who has time and again faced a massive amount of online trolling and backlashing from the netizens. Starting from being called 'artificial', 'struggling didi', 'fake', to 'flat-screen', Ananya has endured everything. However, in a recent interview, the actress opened up about how much she was hurt from all this and recalled one more incident about the same.
For the unversed, Ananya Panday is the daughter of veteran actor, Chunky Panday and celebrity costume designer, Bhavana Pandey. Following his father's footsteps, she had made her acting debut on May 10, 2019, with the film, Student Of The Year 2. She had also won the Best Debut (Female) Filmfare Award for her performance in the film, Student Of The Year 2. Since then, she has never looked back and has been giving one after the other hit movies in Bollywood.

In a recent interview with the show's host on The Ranveer Show, Ananya Panday opened up about dealing with body-shaming or facing rejections due to the same. She recalled an incident when she was new to the industry, and people had started asking her to go under the knife and fix many of her body parts. She was also asked to get breast enhancement surgery and something to do with her face. Revealing that she was also asked to put on some weight, Ananya said:
“As soon as I started working, people started saying things like ‘you should fix this and fix that, like get a boob job or change something about your face. And, it is said very casually and not in direct words that you sometimes even don’t pick it up. They would say, ‘just fill up a little more. Put on some weight.”
Further, in the same conversation, the actress added that body-shaming was the worst thing that people had done to her. She raised several questions regarding her career and other things which she can do positively. Talking about the same, Ananya added:
“Is that what people care about? Is that what I am reduced to? Is there nothing about me paramount to my waist size or chest size? The worst thing you can do to someone is judge them for their body."

This is not the first time that Ananya had opened up about facing body-shaming and online trolling regarding her body. Earlier, in an interview with Bollywood Bubble, she had revealed that much before entering the industry, whenever she used to go out with her parents, people used to call her ''thin'' and that she looked like 'a boy and a flat-screen'. She had also mentioned that earlier these comments used to hurt her, however, now, she pays no heed to them. She had said:
"People used say I look like a boy, flat screen. At that time it did hurt because those are the years where you are forming your self confidence. You are learning to love yourself and someone else is pulling you down then you really start doubting yourself. Now, slowly I am reaching a point where I am focusing on accepting myself. If that is sorted and that is my foundation then nothing can hurt me since I am at peace with myself and I love myself. I am not saying it has happened. It is an ongoing process but I feel this realisation is more important than what anyone else says.”
On the work front, Ananya Panday was last seen in the movie, Gehraiyaan and will next be seen in the upcoming movies, Kho Gaye Hum Kahaan and Liger.
