The alleged incident took place in the Madhurawada area, which came under the PM Palem police station in Vizag. The deceased, aged 27, got married to her boyfriend, Gneaeshwar, 28, against the wishes of her family back in 2023. The pair used to stay in a rented apartment at Madhurwada, where Gnaneshwar used to run a fast food stall. A case was registered by the PM Palem police and then the matter was fully investigated. Anusha's body was also taken to the KG Hospital for a post-mortem. It was not declared as a natural death, as Anusha's husband shared that he felt tortured as she repeatedly accused him of adultery.
The report by India Today also said that the victim was to deliver in the third week of April. She and her husband had also gone to the hospital for a prenatal checkup, where the doctors had told them to immediately admit Anusha for the delivery. They reportedly delayed it to another day.
